V. Gaines ready for Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals

Denver, CO – It’s been a couple of weeks since V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil team hit the track at an NHRA National event. Normally when the guys have a break in the action they re-stock the trailer, do a little maintenance on the big rig, and if timing works out, do a little testing. So much for normal…

V and his crew did get most of the normal things taken care of in the last couple of weeks but when the team decided to go test the car that’s when things went a little past normal. As V told his friends and fans on Facebook “I saw both Elvis and John Force at 1000′ “. The Kendall Motor Oil Dart had a problem with a fuel line which started a small fire….then it turned into a bigger fire……pretty sure you get the ideal.

The guys kicked it into high gear by getting the car to Lazarus Race Cars in Lakewood and started tearing off the old and burnt. Roger and Daniel at Lazarus hit the ground running. Clyde, Rick, Mark, along with Bob from Madcap Racing Engines and Roy Simmons worked around the clock to get the Kendall Motor Oil Dart back into race form. Painter Dave and the guys at Fineline Graphics kicked in to put all the finishing touches on the machine…whew..get tired just thinking about what these guys pulled off.

With the craziness out of the way V and the guys had a chance to spend some time with their friends and families here in Colorado at the Mopar Block Party on Thursday. V signed autographs, shook hands and talk with folks well into the night.

“After the last 10 days it was really fun to walk the streets of Golden and to spend some time with all the folks of our home state” V Gaines. “As you all know this is our home track and the only chance we have to race in front of our local family….we just want to make them proud.”

“There is no doubt I have a support staff that is the best” Gaines. “Sometimes the words Thank You just don’t say what or how I really feel”
