V. Gaines O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals Pre-Race Report
Houston, TX – This week V Gaines and his Kendall Motor Oil team travel to the Lone Star state and a great race track in Baytown
(Houston). This weekends race is always a big deal for the team as Houston is headquarters for Kendall Motor Oil. Heading into the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals V is sitting number 6 in the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello Championship points standings.
“This is our chance to put on a show for all the folks who work for Kendall Motor Oil” V Gaines. ” On top of that, this weekend is when we are debuting our new Kendall Motor Oil Dodge Dart….WOW”!
The last two races V has gone out in the early rounds of competition and the team is looking forward to getting back into racing in the final rounds.
After leaving Charlotte a couple weeks back the team has been working non stop getting the new Dart ready for action. They made a trip up to Bandimere Speedway in Denver for a quick test. “The trip to Bandimere was to make sure the car went from A to B” Gaines said. “It’s almost impossible to really know how fast a car is when testing at altitude, we just needed to make some hits close to home”
Tuesday and Wednesday of this week the guys made a stop off in Tulsa to make some runs in conditions closer to where most of the races are ran. The new Lazarus built Dart looked great on the track and on the computer. The real trick will be running a new car in Houston at the Spring Nationals.
The team from Fineline Signs and Graphics in Denver did an amazing job of designing and wrapping the new Dart. The stripe on the Kendall Motor Oil Dart is chrome and looks amazing in person. Once again the Kendall Motor Oil logo’s on the doors are reflective and they just light up when pictures are taken.
