TYLER SCOTT CAPS SECOND CONSECUTIVE NDRA CHAMPIONSHIP WITH SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON
EXETER, ON – They might have chalked up his first NDRA championship season to beginners luck, but there’s no
denying, after a dominating performance during this past weekend’s 4th Annual Canadian Funny Car Championships, that Tyler Scott and his Kardiac Kids Alcohol Funny Car team are the real deal.
Scott, a twenty-four year old native of Exeter, Ontario, was not only triumphant in taking the event crown over the weekend, but he wrapped up a dominating season for the team in NDRA competition, taking home his second consecutive championship in the series, and the fourth overall for the Kardiac Kids team. “What an amazing weekend! To qualify number 1 and win the race is blessing enough, but to also reset my personal best time with a 5.69, it truly is surreal still,” said Scott.
Those first two championships were won with Team Owner and current Crew Chief Larry Dobbs at the controls of the team’s Napier sponsored Monte Carlo. “What more can I say? We are four time Canadian Champions and two time champs with me driving,” noted Scott.
Knowing that it takes major financial backing to compete at the level they have all season, the team would be remiss did they not mention the tremendous support they get from sponsors Napier Outdoors, Jim Scott Enterprises, Harman Heavy Vehicle Service, Huron Produce, Hamill Machine, OK Tire Burlington and Jawzys.
The team’s season doesn’t end here however, as they now switch their focus to preparations for the upcoming NHRA Carolina Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina. That doesn’t leave much time for reflection on the great season they had in NDRA competition. “I’ve been lucky to be with the Kardiac Kids team for all of the NDRA Championships and I wouldn’t want to be a part of any other team. Our crew, sponsors and fans are what drives us to succeed and we are very excited for Charlotte and Reading,” said Scott.
