Successful Testing at Crandall for Barklage Racing Team

SAINT LOUIS, MO (March 18, 2010) — With only one day left to prepare for the 2010 ADRL Universal Technical Institute Dragpalooza VI, the Barklage Racing Team is wasting no time as they gear up for this Friday’s qualifying rounds at Houston Raceway Park. “We had a pretty good run at Crandall,” says Cody Barklage of Barklage Racing Team. “We ran a 3.71 at 200mph, so we were pretty happy with our performance.” Barklage Racing traveled from Lake Ozark, Missouri to Crandall, Texas, to test their Pontiac Firebird at Dallas Raceway. “Everything went on without a hitch,” recalls Cody.  “We’re so excited for Houston. We finally feel ready.”

A self-proclaimed ‘concrete palace’, Dallas Raceway offers an optimal environment for testing, hosting a ¼ mile track to provide plenty of space for testing and tuning drag cars. The track proved to provide excellent testing grounds for Team Barklage. “It felt great to run a 3.71 after such a long winter,” said Cody. “It had been quite a while since I had last driven. It felt great.”

This weekend, the Barklage Racing Team will be cheering for Cody as he races his freshly-tested Firebird. As for Zach Barklage’s 1957 Chevy, fans will have to wait to see the new car in action. “Zach will make his first appearance driving a ‘67 Camaro at the ADRL Georgia Drags in late April,” says brother, Cody. John and Sarah Heath of JL Masonry and Construction recently partnered with Barklage Racing, giving Zach the opportunity to drive their 1967 Camaro.

With the support of their partial sponsors, the Barklage Racing Team is working hard to earn a spot at the ADRL World Finals later this year. “We are very thankful for our existing partnerships,” says Cody. “Their support allows us to continue doing what we love to do.” The Barklage brothers have partnerships with ZooMMo Web Solutions, Lucas Oil, NGK Spark Plugs, Goodson Tool Company, Goodyear, Sunoco Fuels, Pro Designs Vehicle Wraps, Taylor Wire, and MB Drywall. Even with the support of their current partnerships, the Barklage Team is still seeking a primary sponsor for the 2010 season.
