Quick connect fluid fitting manufacturer creates “Jiffy-tite Package Award”

Rochester, NY – The Tread City Tire / Western New York Super Rod Association (WNYSRA) today proudly announced that Jiffy-WNYSRA LaFleurtite Motorsports of Lancaster, New York has joined the upstart racing series as a sponsor.  As part of their sponsorship, Jiffy-tite has created the “Jiffy-tite Package Award” that includes a $50 gift certificate towards the purchase of Jiffy-tite’s quick connect fluid fittings.  The award will be presented at every WNYSRA event to the driver with the best winning “package” during eliminations, which represents the total amount of time away from a perfect run, calculated using the racer’s reaction time at the starting line and elapsed time (ET) for their run down the quarter-mile.

“We’re thrilled to have Jiffy-tite on board,” stated Jason Oldfield, President of the WNYSRA.  Oldfield continued, “I’m a customer of Jiffy-tite myself, using their fittings on both my fuel lines and transmission cooler lines, and couldn’t be happier with their performance.  This new award will give other racers the opportunity to experience the outstanding performance of Jiffy-tite’s fittings first-hand.”

The first driver to win the “Jiffy-tite Package Award” was Jon Pellicane of Attica, NY, who at the WNYSRA opener presented by Damorie Construction put together a “twenty-thousandths package” (0.020 seconds) with his near perfect 0.005 reaction time and 9.915 second ET en route to defeating Mark Herbold of Elma, NY in the first round of eliminations.

Duane LaFleur, Jiffy-tite Motorsports Manager, had this to say about their support of the WNYSRA:  “Jiffy-tite is proud to be a sponsor of the Tread City Tire / Western New York Super Rod Association for the 2014 season.  The racing in the WNYSRA is extremely close, just like the machined tolerances of our fittings.  So, we feel that our sponsorship and the creation of this award will allow us to highlight the performance benefits of our products, and at the same time effectively communicate them to one of our target markets.”  LaFleur continued, “In addition, Jason Oldfield and Phil Harnden have put a lot of effort into making this series work, and we strongly believe that this is something that is needed in the area.  So, we were more than happy to help support this great series.”

The Tread City Tire / Western New York Super Rod Association returns to Empire Dragway next Saturday, June 28th for race number 2 of the 8 race series.  Gates open at noon, with open time trials for all competitors starting at 1 pm.  WNYSRA qualifying sessions are currently scheduled for 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm, with final eliminations slated to start at 5:00 pm.  For more information, visit at the WNYSRA website at http://www.wnysra.com.
