Stanley and Weiss Racing are back, ready and willing to participate in the ADRL series this coming weekend in Richmond Virginia, home of redbirds and dogwoods. We’ve had the time from Memphis till now to perform some upgrades to that “Appalachia on Steroids” Camaro Pro Mod that ran an untested 3.91 in Memphis on its second full hit working the Mickey Thompson hides to their fullest. The data we gathered in Memphis gave us what we hope was a good baseline for the balance of this season and into 2010 as it’s standing now, the Stanley and Weiss Racing Season is past its testing and into the stiff Extreme Pro Modified Ranks Competition, new car blues have been dealt with and we are planning for some excellent numbers for our sponsors and our own high fives afterwards “I may have to jump real high to get one in”. Sikora Racing To Venture East
Barstow, CA (July 8, 2009) – Doug Sikora of Sikora Racing (2-Time PSCA Outlaw 10.5 Champion) today announced his teams plans on attending the NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl event to be held at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. This will be the first time since 1998 that the California based ProCharged Mustang will venture east to compete against the countries top 10.5 racers.
Fresh off his win at the PSCA/MagnaFuel Summer Nationals, Doug ran a personal best 6.878 at 207.27 MPH in very bad air conditions. To say the least, his confidence is at an all time high “We finally think we have a car and combo that can compete on the national level, and this race should have the best of the best in attendance.” said an excited Sikora. “This opportunity will be a great experience to gauge our team against some of the East & Midwest cars that will be traveling to Vegas this Nov 19-22 to compete at the Street Car Super Nationals”.
Sikora will be entering the NMRA’s Pro Outlaw 10.5 class where he will be racing against legends of the sport like Mike Murillo, Dan Millen, Jim Monson & Conrad Scarry to name a few.. Current class record in Pro Outlaw 10.5 is held by Mike Murillo 6.771 / 224.740
Mike Janis’ Aeroquip Team Takes 1st ADRL P/X Win at Hardee’s Independence Drags III
Topeka, Kansas (July 6, 2009) – Heading into the Topeka event the Aeroquip team of Mike Janis knew they would need to make gains inside the bell housing for the team to utilize all the Jan-Cen horsepower they have on tap. They turned to long time sponsor Ram Clutches and Pat Norcia for the help they needed and the results speak for themselves. National Guard ADRL Updates Supercharger Rules
O’FALLON, MO (June 30, 2009) –The National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced today several rule clarifications related to the use of superchargers in its Pro Extreme and Extreme 10.5 classes.
- Use of any size centrifugal, roots-type or screw-type supercharger allowed.
- Maximum overdrive for a roots-type supercharger is 1.70 (70 percent over).
- Maximum overdrive for a PSI screw-type supercharger is 2.28 (128 percent over).
- Maximum overdrive for a Whipple screw-type supercharger is 1.60 (60 percent over).
- All screw-type superchargers must be certified to SFI Spec 34.1 and overdrive limit established to be eligible for ADRL competition.
- Any new screw-type supercharger must be approved for competition prior to competing at an ADRL event.
- All screw-type superchargers must display a current SFI Recertification tag.
“We haven’t had a problem in this area, but these rules are intended to stave off any issues before they arise,” National Guard ADRL Executive Vice President of Competition Bubba Corzine explained. “We just want to put it in writing and make sure that all of our race teams know where we stand in regard to these power enhancers.”

D’Aprile Hopes To Keep Momentum at ADRL’S Hardee’s Independence Drags III
Elma, NY (June 28, 2009) – After placing Mel Bush’s 62’ Bel Air in the number four spot at the ADRL’s Ford Drive One event in Martin Michigan a few weeks ago Driver, Tommy D’Aprile then posted his first 200 mile per hour pass in a first round win over Joey Martin.

End of School Surprise!
Pearblossom, CA – The kids at Pearblossom Elementary in Pearblossom, California received a surprise they won’t soon forget. Christy Lamica and Glenn Kirby brought there super comp dragster to the school to share it with the kids.
Originally the showing was to be for the sixth grade, but ended up being for the whole school which is comprised of 360 kids. “It was great seeing the kids raise their hands for questions, they were really curious about the car and about drag racing” Said Christy.
“I sat back and watched the crowds of kids jump in surprise when the motor started up, that was a lot of fun for them and me!” Glenn stated.
After the show Christy went into the sixth grade classroom answered questions from the students and handed out goody bags filled with stickers. Mrs. Jeannie Kirby, the 6th grade teacher, phoned Glenn the next day saying the kids were all abuzz and wearing some of the stickers that were in the bags. It was a great time for all.

Aeroquip Team Has Two Chances At First Win In Martin
Elma, NY – With the ADRL Quarter-Max Drags’ semi-final and final rounds held over till Friday’s qualifying for the ADRL Ford Drive One Summer Drags V, Mike Janis has two shots in one event to take home his first ADRL Minute Man.
After defeating Brian Daniels, two weeks ago, in the quarter-finals of the ADRL Quarter-Max Drags, in Memphis, Mike Janis was preparing his Aeroquip backed Dan Page Race Cars built ride for the semis against Quain Stott.
As Janis’ team prepared to pull their Jan-Cen “Monster Power” equipped machine from their pit area the race was called due to rain. The rain delayed portion of the ADRL Quarter-Max event will be concluded this Friday night during qualifying for the ADRL Ford Drive One Summer Drags V. Leaving the Aeroquip team in familiar territory at Martin’s U.S 131 Dragway.

MEMORIAL DAY SALUTE!
Lawton, OK (May 27, 2009) The 100th BSB Support Unit in Fort Sill, Oklahoma received a special treat this past Memorial Day weekend. Two division 7 super comp racers, Christy Lamica and Glenn Kirby decided to show their support of the troops by donning their race car in the “digital camouflage” and the American Flag. They took the car to Ft. Sill and gave the troops and their families a little show. With the help of K&N Filters, Lucas Oil, Madrid Motorsports and a few other sponsors, as well as, family and friends Glenn and Christy put together bags of hats, stickers, products, and candy for the kids.
