Friday night qualifying went off with any problems at all. Wade Moody set a new NHRDA Pro Stock record under the lights at the Texas Motorplex. Saturday was going great until Mother Nature decided that it was time to start raining pushing the final rounds of eliminations to Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon the NHRDA crowned six World Champions.

Top Diesel – World Champion

John Robinson made his first appearance at the race track since his little mishap with the wall back in May. Robinson is always a strong competitor and he was looking to win the World Championship.

Robinson defeated Jeff Dean in the 1st round and that setup a matchup with Jared Jones who just broke the NHRDA Top Diesel ET record. Jones went red in the final giving Robinson the win and the World Championship.

Congrats to John and Team Power Service !

Wade Moody

Pro Stock – World Champion

Moody rolled into the World Finals with one thing in mind. He wanted to win the NHRDA World Championship. On Friday night he set the new NHRDA Pro Stock ET and MPH record. Now all he had to do was stay consistent in eliminations. Moody did just that laying down a 7.50 pass in the semi-finals and then a 7.53 in the final round to win the NHRDA World Championship.

Congrats to Wade and Team Flo-Pro !

Pro Street – World Champion
Philip Palmer and Team Green came to Texas in hopes of being the first ever 3 Time World Champion!

On Friday night they went to the #1 qualifier spot and the Pro Street world knew that Palmer and Team Green were on a mission. Palmer had a single in the first round and then his opponent in the 2nd round, Shawn Proctor broke so he had a another single. In the semi-finals Palmer took down Payton Hugie on a holeshot with Palmer getting off the line quicker.

The final round saw Palmer defeat Seth Sullivan. Making him the first ever 3 Time NHRDA World Champion!

Congrats to Philip and Team Green !

Super Street – World Champion
Brian Spooner came down in April and won the Super Street class and then sold his ’02 GMC to Wade Minter the following day. Minter offered Spooner a chance to come down and race at the World Finals if he wanted and even let him drive his old truck.

Spooner left off right where he left in April as he marched through all the competitors in Super Street. Spooner defeated Micah Sullivan in the final round to claim his second World Championship.

Congrats to Brian Spooner and Team Minter!

Super Diesel – World Champion
The Super Diesel final round had the World Championship on the line and the National Championship on the line. William Ellington was to face off with Ryan Dubois for the World Championship. Dubois though needed to win to clinch the Super Diesel National Championship.

When the tree dropped Dubois went red and that gave the win to Ellington and he clinched his first ever World Championship.

Congrats to William Ellington and your 1st World Championship Title!

Sportsman – World Champion

Sportsman is one of the most competitive classes in the NHRDA. And the 2013 World Finals was not an easy one for Tyler Radewald. In the 3rd round Radewald raced trey Sikes in a rematch of the final round from the Carolina Diesel Nationals. Radewald got the win this time. Then Radewald faced off against long time NHRDA Sportsman racer Vince Niederhauser in the semi-finals taking the win light with a better reaction time.

In the final round Tyler defeated Steve Price to claim his first ever World Championship.
