CONCORD, NCSeven-time NHRA Top Fuel world champion Tony Schumacher and five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup world champ Jimmie DSRJohnson will see who can produce the best burnout Wednesday on pit road of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The 11 a.m. “Burnouts to the Playoffs” is a media event hosted by Charlotte Motor Speedway and zMAX Dragway, which is the only racing facility that will have a “playoff event” in both the NHRA Mello Yello and NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

Schumacher will be in his 330-mph U.S. Army dragster; Johnson in his 200-mph No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet.

NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship starts this weekend at zMAX Dragway with the Carlyle Tools Carolina Nationals presented by NAPA while NASCAR’S Chase to the Sprint Cup is Oct. 12 with the Bank of America 500 on the half-mile Charlotte oval.

Following the burnout battle, Schumacher and Johnson will participate in a fan forum for the speedway’s season ticket holders. The drivers who collectively have won 12 world championships and 316 race titles (Schumacher 72, Johnson 64) will be available for media interviews.
