Milan Dragway and Pro-Stock Inc. Announce New Outlaw Sled Class

Milan, MI. – The long cold winter of 2014 has been weighing on everyone; even the people who love the snow and the cold the Outlaw Sledmost, SNOWMOBILERS! So, what do avid Michigan snowmobilers do when the winter blues are getting them down? Think about warmer weather and racing their sled on asphalt! Now, thanks to Milan Dragway and Pro-Stock Inc. they will have a place for them to do just that while competing against some of the quickest and fastest sleds in the country!

This new class will compete at four of the 6 Aeroquip Friday Night Heads Up events, May, June, August and September. The new Pro-Stock Inc. Outlaw Sled Class will feature some of the quickest and fastest snowmobiles on the planet capable of posting 6 second elapsed times while racing on a heads up – 1,000 foot format.

PRO-STOCK INC. is a full custom fabrication race shop, featuring a 4800 square feet performance center located in Whitmore Lake, MI – just outside of Ann Arbor, MI. Pro-Stock, Inc. has two in house Dynos and brings winning race & fabricating talent together to build 1st place winning sleds & ATVs.

Milan Dragway Vice President, Deneen Baxter, and Pro-Stock Inc.’s Chris Connelly and Paul Thiel agree that the new snowmobile class has extreme potential. “With the popularity of snowmobiles in our area; snowmobile racing is not just a winter sport for these racers, it’s a year round pursuit of speed. With our newly created class, thanks to Pro-Stock Inc., we hope that we can attract sleds from outside of our area and continue to grow the Pro-Stock Inc. Outlaw Sled Program,” said Deneen Baxter.

“Outlaw Sled racing has taken off in the last few years. These machines can cost upwards of $50-$75,000. It’s a serious form of drag racing and the fan interest continues to grow as the sleds get faster. We are looking to infuse our motto of Vision, Build, Win into this new program and help it to continue to grow along with Milan,” said Pro-Stock Inc.’s Owner, Chris Connelly.

Pro-Stock’s shop manager, Paul Thiel, was quick to point out that Pro-Stock Inc. decided to support the new class because he believes that it is a way to support the racers that support Pro-Stock Inc. “Our type of racing is growing by leaps and bounds. By sponsoring this class at Milan we are giving our customers a professional, competitive, and safe place to race and when one of our sleds beat the competition…we hope they would think about becoming a customer of ours,” added Thiel.
