LANG HEADS TO HOME PROVINCE STILL LOOKING FOR ELUSIVE CONSISTENCY

Grande Pointe, MB – Once one of the most consistent competitors on the Pro Modified circuit during his two year reign as IHRA World Champion, Kenny Lang now finds himself in a weekly battle to find the tune-up that will give his Summit Racing Equipment Camaro a shot at winning.

A more than month-long break for the NHRA Pro Mod Series presented by Get Screened America, combined with an appearance at his home track in Gimli, Manitoba might be just what the doctor ordered.

Last weekend’s showing at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio didn’t go exactly as one would script it when competing at their sponsors’ event.

However, there are always positives to take out of every situation and the fact that Lang still sits in the top 10 in series points, just a little more than three rounds of racing out of the top five, and still with an outside shot at the championship, is something that the team can draw strength from.

This weekend Lang and his Summit Racing Equipment 69 Camaro will be at Gimli Motorsports Park in Manitoba for an event that Lang looks forward to every year. It’s an opportunity for him to reconnect with old friends and fans at the track where he cut his teeth as a drag racer.

The next NHRA action for Lang will come at the prestigious Mac Tools U.S. Nationals August 29th – September 3rd in Indianapolis, Indiana. That event will be the seventh in the ten race series and will kick-off a two month stretch run to decide the championship.
