Grand Junction, CO – Mike Knowles is a throwback of sorts on the NHRA trail. He’s an independent professional racer. Among the sea of highly sponsored teams in the Pro Pits at an NHRA event Mike Knowles and his “Blown Money” team stick out like a sore thumb, but not for any bad reasons.

Knowles’ team is a class act with a pit space and transporter even the top pros on the circuit envy. His Pro Mod Camaro is as detailed as a Riddler award winner and it can run 240 to boot. Everything about the operation says “I did it my way”.

“I never had it easy when I was growing up and I worked hard for everything I have. Coming to the races is a vacation from my day to day duties at Knowles Enterprises but it doesn’t mean I don’t work hard here. I’ve been through the high dollar tuners and large crews and I finally found a small group of guys; led by Bill Rice and my longtime friend, Bart Sunn, that work harder than any crew I’ve had. I now drive and tune the car, with input from Bill, and I’m having fun again. I guess I just had to do it my way,” said team owner/driver Mike Knowles.

Knowles and the rest of the Pro Care RX NHRA Pro Modified teams are scheduled for three qualifying sessions, two on Friday and one on Saturday prior to the first round of eliminations. Eliminations continue with the second round on Sunday during Professional eliminations.

Mike Knowles and the entire Blown Money Team would like to thank Red Line Synthetic Oil for their support the team this season.
