HIGHT WINS AGAIN FOR FAN IN CHARLOTTE

CONCORD, NC – Funny Car points leader Robert Hight drove his Auto Club Ford Mustang to the final found of eliminations at Brand SourcezMAX Dragway today and defeated John Force, Alexis Dejoria and Tim Wilkerson in route to his second Wally of the 2014 season. With this win, Hight also put a 55” flat screen TV in the hands of Kerry Hinshaw of Wilmington, N.C. compliments of BrandSource and the “Win with Force” promotion. This was the twelfth final round in a row for John Force Racing going back to 2013.

“This format is a dangerous format for Mike Neff. He understands what he needs to run in order to win. We joked all day after the first round that we didn’t have lane choice and we got table scraps. We went out there and we still won from the lane that nobody wanted. Never once did I feel like we were at a disadvantage because we were in the ‘bad’ lane,” said Hight. “Losing twice to Alexis in finals earlier this year I think that motivated him a little bit to push it. The way he races I guarantee my car was not on the edge in the final. It was tuned up enough to go up there and hopefully get the win.”

Hight qualified in the No. 2 spot this weekend with an impressive 4.074 ET in the second round of qualifying. This is Hight’s second victory of 2014 and his fourth consecutive final round appearance this season. This is the third TV JFR has given away in 2014.

“The whole field is tough. You look at it top to bottom. Anybody can win one of these races. There are a lot of great cars out there. Kalitta (Racing) is running great. Schumacher (Racing) will be there. (Tim) Wilkerson is running well. It is all tough. If you let up just a little bit you don’t take everybody seriously you are going to be on the trailer. We took the points lead over in Las Vegas. We don’t want to give it up. I didn’t want to have to wait between here and Houston thinking about getting the points lead back. I want to go to Houston knowing we still have the points lead,” said Hight.

Hight moved into the points lead when he defeated Ron Capps in the semi-finals last week in Las Vegas. Today, the President of John Force Racing dismissed Tony Pedregon, Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, Tommy Johnson Jr., Alexis Dejoria, Tim Wilkerson and finally, John Force, to take home the win.

At each NHRA national event when a JFR team qualifies No. 1 a lucky fan that has signed up at the JFR “Win with Force” display located in Nitro Alley will be eligible to win the BrandSource No. 1 Qualifier Award, a front loading washer and dryer set.  If a JFR driver wins the event a different fan will win the 55” flat screen TV Winner’s Circle Award from BrandSource.  At the end of the season a grand prize winner of the “Win with Force” Sweepstakes will be awarded a 2014 Ford Escape S-Series.

Thanks to a winning season by John Force Racing in 2013, BrandSource gave away eight flat-screen televisions and nine washers & dryers to lucky fans. More than 24,000 race fans registered to win prizes at the “Win with Force” display in NHRA’s Nitro Alley. Another 91,000 fans signed up online at BrandSource.com.

Fans can sign up to win at the John Force Racing interactive midway display or at thousands of BrandSource stores across the country. The 53-foot trailer display will be in the Nitro Alley area of every NHRA Mello Yello Series national event in 2014.
