Grubb Racing ready to return to Quick 32 Sportsman Series with renewed effort and performance

Top Sportsman Team will be ready for racing at opener May 15

PINE RIVER, ON – After a couple of non-competitive seasons, Grubb Racing plans to return to the Quick 32 Grubb RacingSportsman Series with a vengeance.

We had a couple of rough years, noted team owner Marvin Grubb, who heads up the team with his brother and driver Darrin Grubb. But we have things sorted out now and hopefully it works out better than the last couple of years.

Sitting under the hood of the 2011 Pontiac GXP Top Sportsman drag car is a 706-cubic inch Par Racing engine hooked to a Hutch’s Transmission Powerglide. The fuel system is a Rupert’s Racing Products item, and all the mechanicals ride on a Chris Duncan Race Cars product.

The car is capable of going down the quarter-mile in six seconds at speeds over 200 mph.

Along with the Grubb brothers, Mike Dennis is the team’s crew chief and Barb Grubb makes up the rest of the crew.

Sponsorship is provided by Marvin’s Automotive Service Ltd., Pennzoil, Hutch’s Transmission Service, Ideal Supply, Chris Duncan Race Cars, Foris Signs and Par Racing Engines.

Grubb mentioned that while there have been no major changes to the car for the upcoming year, he is confident the team will be in the thick of things when the car gets staged.

Hopefully we will be there, he said. And no matter what, we are enjoying ourselves. The Quick 32 Sportsman Series weekends of racing is a lot of fun.
