GALLEN WINS IHRA nitro jam CHAMPIONSHIP ON MICKEY THOMPSON TIRES

STOW, OH – Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels (Mickey Thompson) congratulates Peter Gallen for winning the IHRA AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car class championship. The two-time Nitro Jam champion from Poverty Stricken Racing was the seasons come back kid in a 1977 Monza on Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires size 34.5/17.0-16 (#3187)

“Gallen made an incredible come back after a rough start to the season this year,” stated Aaron Smith, Motorsports Team Manager, Mickey Thompson. “He and the Poverty Stricken Racing team did an incredible job earning this class championship for the second consecutive year, and we congratulate them on a job well done.”

Gallen returned this year with the 1977 Monza after winning the 2011 championship in his “Poverty Vega”.

“This year has been a real struggle, but my crew proved that even with adversity they are still the best out there,” Gallen said.  “I couldn’t do any of this without my incredible crew.”
