FORCE LADIES WILL RACE PINK AT READING FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

BROWNSBURG, IN – Three-time Funny Car winner Courtney Force and Road to the Future nominee Brittany Force will be racing Traxxas Funny Car-Pinkunique paint schemes at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading for the 29th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The John Force Racing drivers will be supporting Lionel Racing’s “Paint the Track Pink” program in support of breast cancer research. Through this special promotion, die-cast manufacturer, Lionel Racing will contribute a portion of the proceeds from each program die-cast sold to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Sophomore sensation Courtney Force ran a similar paint scheme during her 2012 rookie season and is excited to participate for such a unique cause. Last year the Traxxas Pink die-cast sold almost as well as Courtney’s standard paint scheme die-cast and was the second best-selling NHRA special of 2012. Over one million people were reached online and through social impressions. In addition the program received national media coverage throughout the month of October.

“I’m really excited,” Courtney Force said. “It’s all about raising interest for breast cancer awareness month. It’s for a good cause and it’s exciting for our team to be able to come out here and run a pink car. It’s only one time a year we get to do this and it’s fun for me being a girl and having my Traxxas Funny Car be all pink. I’ll have a pink fire suit too. It was a lot of fun being involved in designing my car this year. I look forward to it every year, but most importantly it’s all about bringing awareness to breast cancer and breast cancer research. I’m just excited and honored to be able to fly with pink colors during Reading.”

Brittany Force, second oldest daughter of NHRA Funny Car legend John Force, will be racing the hot pink Castrol EDGE dragster for the fourth of six races in the Countdown. This will be the first time the 27-year-old will be taking part in this event and is thrilled to represent “Paint the Track Pink.”

“I’m really looking forward to this promotion,” said Brittany Force. “Courtney did it last year. It’s for an awesome cause and it’s something I think the fans will really enjoy because it’s a new paint scheme. There’s going to be hot pink on my car and Courtney will be running a hot pink car as well. I think it’s going to be really cool watching the Castrol EDGE car go down the track all in pink. Being able to be a part of a team that’s going to help bring awareness to breast cancer and breast cancer research is such a great thing.

“I love driving my race car and being out here meeting the fans. That’s something I always thought could help open doors where we’re bringing awareness to a cause or a charity. I’ve always been very open to doing something like that, but this is just exciting to be a part of and to say the Castrol EDGE team is going to ‘Paint the Track Pink’ for Breast Cancer Awareness month is just great,” added Brittany Force.

In addition to the Forces on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Series tour additional drivers in other series participating will include Dale Earnhardt Jr. (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series), Greg Biffle (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series), Danica Patrick (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series), Regan Smith (Nationwide Series), and Brad Sweet (Nationwide Series).

Fans can pre-order their very own Courtney Force and Brittany Force “Paint the Track Pink” die casts through John Force Racing (www.johnforceracestation.com), Lionel Racing (www.lionelracing.com/paint-the-track-pink), NHRAdiecast.com or other Lionel die cast distributors.
