Foley to Race Pure Speed A/Fuel Dragster at Charlotte
CONCORD, NC – Former Top Fuel driver Doug Foley will be back behind the wheel of a nitro-injected A/Fuel dragster as the NHRA Mello
Yello Series tour returns to his backyard for the Pep Boys Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway, Sept. 12-14. Foley, who reached the final round at the 2012 Four-Wide Nationals, will drive Anthony Dicero’s A/Fueler with backing from Pure Speed Drag Racing Experience.
“Racing a 270 MPH Top Alcohol Dragster at Charlotte is the perfect opportunity for us to spread the word about what’s going on with our company,” said Foley, the president of Pure Speed. “This is the right time and place to promote our upcoming events as we head west next month.”
Formerly Doug Foley’s Drag Racing School, Pure Speed is continuing to change and expand after a thorough rebranding last fall. A growing corporate client base has influenced the launch of a new website, www.purespeedcorpevents.com, to offer a streamlined experience for customers who are looking to book corporate entertainment outings.
Pure Speed’s fleet of race cars is also growing to accommodate larger events and additional locations across the country. A competition-driven Muscle Car experience was recently launched with an outstanding response.
“Our customers have been looking for a side-by-side racing experience to feed their competitive side. We felt that wasn’t possible with beginners driving our ten-second dragsters, so we came up with this Muscle Car program. Drivers will race customized new-era Camaros through ‘qualifying’ and eliminations with the winner receiving a prize. We debuted the Muscle Car program during corporate events this summer. The program will be available to retail customers starting in Las Vegas this October,” Foley noted.
The drag racing experience will debut a brand-new third Ride-Along dragster at the Carolina Nationals, allowing customers to ride along with a licensed Pure Speed driver on a nine second, 145 MPH pass down the quarter mile.
Additionally, the North Carolina-based company will move their operation to the west during the fall and winter months to serve customers in Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Fontana, California. The experience will be based in Las Vegas with a new operations office. Pure Speed cars will be on-track at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for roughly twelve days each month, including the week of the massive SEMA show and other Vegas conventions. Vegas visitors will be able to plan Pure Speed outings through Vegas.com and most hotel/casino concierges.
Doug Foley and the Pure Speed Drag Racing Experience/Anthony Dicero Racing A/Fuel Dragster will hit the track at the Pep Boys Carolina Nationals, Sept. 12-14, starting with qualifying at 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM on Friday and 11 AM on Saturday. Top Alcohol Dragster eliminations begin at 4:30 PM on Saturday and continue on Sunday.
