DSR drivers to appear at New York-New York Hotel & Casino for free autograph session Thursday evening before NHRA event
LAS VEGAS, NV – Don Schumacher Racing’s seven drivers in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will be featured at a free
autograph session from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the New York-New York Hotel & Casino lobby.
This marks the fourth consecutive year DSR has made the Las Vegas landmark its home in the entertainment capital of the world.
On the eve of this weekend’s Friday-Sunday NHRA Toyota Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, DSR’s reigning world champions Antron Brown and Jack Beckman will be joined by teammates Tony Schumacher, Spencer Massey, Ron Capps, Matt Hagan and Johnny Gray in the New York-New York lobby. Each driver will have free autograph cards and be available for photos.
“We always look forward to racing at Las Vegas, a big reason is that we all stay at New York-New York and get to spend time with all their guests and fans of NHRA drag racing,” said Brown, who has won three NHRA titles this season. “We really don’t have to leave New York- New York except to go to the racetrack.”
An added feature to DSR’s stay at New York-New York, located on the Strip at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, will be showcasing one of Capps’ NAPA AUTO PARTS 300-mph Dodge Charger R/T Funny Cars in the lobby.
Also expected to join DSR’s drivers at the autograph session will be Funny Car pioneer and team owner Don Schumacher, who earlier this year on May 2 was inducted into the prestigious International Motorsports Hall of Fame with NASCAR legends Rusty Wallace, Rick Hendrick and Dale Inman.
