CHAD GREEN & BLAKE ALEXANDER HOPE THE LAS VEGAS DRAG STRIP TAKES THEIR LUCK TO THE JACKPOT AT DODGE NEVADA NATIONALS
LAS VEGAS – Both Chad Green and Blake Alexander are hoping the dice roll their way this weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 2) in Las Vegas when the
two CGM Funny Car hit the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals drag races.
The two Chad Green Motorsports racers have been winning rounds in recent NHRA Mission Drag Racing events with their 12,000-horsepower, nitro-burning machines including final round showings for Green at Charlotte and Alexander at Reading.
Green, the 2025 NHRA Gatornationals winner, has been producing impressive runs in his Flying H/Bond-Coat Ford Mustang Funny Car, as he has moved to eighth in the current NHRA Mission Funny Car point standings with two events remaining in the 20-race national tour.
“Our car has been running really consistent for the past four or five races, and I thought I had good shot to win at Texas (the last race),” said Green. “We got the starting line advantage over Austin Prock, but the car’s engine just lost a cylinder. Without that, we could have beaten him. Overall, our race car is making solid runs, and we have been moving up the Funny Car point standings. I know both Blake and I are anxious to go to Las Vegas this weekend.”
Alexander, the four-time NHRA national event winner, moved to the CGM team in 2025 with the Pronto Auto Services Dodge//SRT Hellcat machine, and veteran driver has worked well with the new squad, scoring final round and semifinals finishes in the second half of the 20-event NHRA Mission drag racing series.
The Charlotte racer sees recent progress with his Funny Car crew as they head to the Las Vegas round of the national tour.
“We have been trying a lot of new parts later in this season, and the progress is getting better with each race,” said Alexander. “Now, we are going to a track at higher altitude (2,000 feet), and we’ll make the proper adjustments for qualifying. We want to get the car into the top half of the 16-car field, then prepare for the final eliminations on Sunday. The Las Vegas event is big for the Pronto customers and we have the SEMA Show the following week. We would like to put in a strong showing for our partners this weekend.”
Green and Alexander take to the racetrack at the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection on Friday, Oct. 31, with qualifying rounds at 1:30 and 4 p.m. PDT. Saturday’s qualifying will take place at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. PDT, with final eliminations on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. PST. Fox Sports 1 will telecast Sunday’s eliminations at 5 p.m. EST.
