MID AMERICA DRAGWAY CLINCHES TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP AT WDRA SUMMIT MIDWEST BRACKET FINALS

Mid America Dragway leaves with three Champions out of the six classes contested at Eddyville Raceway Park.

OSKALOOSA, IA – The 2025 WDRA Summit Bracket Finals presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance launched at Eddyville Raceway Park for the Midwest stop on the series tour. Rosters of racers who represented Mid America Dragway, Cordova Dragway, I-29 Dragway, Mo-Kan Dragway, and the host facility competed in two gamblers races and the main event. Mid America clinched the overall team championship with 46 points over the reigning champions, Cordova, with 44 points. The remaining standings saw Eddyville in third with 41, I-29 with 25, the bracket buster team with 10, and Mo-Kan Dragway with 4 points.

The on-track action began with Friday’s Gamblers Race with four classes for drivers to cash in. In the Box class, Mid America’s Jeremy Hook put together a .015 total package to leave Cordova’s Mark Clark mathematically ineligible with his .021 reaction time. It was an all-Eddyville No Box final round where Pam Vogel earned the stress-free win after Dustin De Haan left a red light shining on the tree.  A family feud was witnessed in the Junior Dragster final as Jillian Pfohl took the .015 margin of victory over James Pfohl, both representatives of Cordova. Mid America snagged another early win in the Teen Racing class as nearly identical reaction times ended with Jaleigh Lightsey earning the win over Nolan Masseil’s breakout run while representing I-29 Dragway. NORWALK, OH – The World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) announces MAHLE Motorsport as the “Official Piston of the WDRA” as part of a new marketing partnership for the 2025 season. The most practical connection for the signature WDRA Rod trophy would undoubtedly be a piston, which is why MAHLE Motorsport has stepped up to become the title sponsor of the Race for the Rod events.

WDRA GROWTH CONTINUES WITH THE ADDITION OF NORTHERN MICHIGAN DRAGWAY

Northern Michigan Dragway becomes the latest facility to choose a sanctioning agreement with the WDRA

NORWALK, OH – Michigan racers will have another World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) facility to compete during the 2025 season with the addition of Northern Michigan Dragway.

The eighth-mile racetrack in Kaleva was founded in 1970 by Michigan Motorsports Hall of Famers Tom and Jim Ledford. Now entering its 55th season, Northern Michigan Dragway has experienced tremendous support, with over two hundred racers registering for the points chase in 2024. This growth is credited to the friendly atmosphere and family-forward management of Brian and Wayne Ledford.

Northern Michigan Dragway has made various improvements in recent years, including a complete resurfacing of the racetrack and increased paving throughout the vast pit area, staging lanes, and return roads. Becoming a sanctioned facility again has rejuvenated the excitement and camaraderie that comes with earning a coveted spot in the year-end festivities. Continue reading

FOD CONTROL CORPORATION OFFERS EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT TO WDRA MEMBER TRACKS

This partnership with the FOD Control Corporation can assist racetracks in cutting costs on track maintenance in 2025

NORWALK, OH – The World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) has procured a partnership with the FOD Control Corporation in 2025, adding to its already impressive line-up of discounts and perks that come with being part of the Alliance. The FOD Control Corporation will provide a ten-percent discount to WDRA member racetracks who purchase a FOD-Razor Motorsports Sweeper, which is an innovative drag mat that picks up FOD (foreign object debris) from the racing surface, pits, and staging lanes.

“The beauty of this system is that it doesn’t send the debris airborne,” said Jon O’Neal with WDRA.  “Most racetracks have traditionally used air power to move debris off the racing surface, but that becomes sketchy near cars in the pits or the lanes. This concept of a sweeper was built for airfield use, but the effectiveness of these drag mats on racing surfaces has amazed me. The only other way I know to lift material is a vacuum truck, and the cost savings with a device like this are extraordinary in comparison.”

The FOD-Razor Motorsport Sweeper is an ingenious pull-behind sweeper built to ensure a clean surface while enhancing performance and safety during competitive events. The durable design quickly removes rocks and aggregate, loose tire rubber, glass, fiberglass, carbon fiber debris, and other foreign substances.  It’s an easy and low-maintenance way to prevent tire and vehicle damage, operates seamlessly on various track surfaces, and is compact, lightweight, and easy to deploy. To drive home the positives, the FOD-Razor Motorsport Sweeper can be connected to any motorized vehicle, has a lifetime warranty, and is manufactured in the USA. Continue reading
