The Pro Bike & Sled Series Countdown to the 2013 Championship – Melissa Pluim – Fourth Place
CAYUGA, ON – Taking fourth place in the 2013 Pro Bike & Sled Series was the Pro Bike team of Marty Kuiack and Melissa Pluim, who each drove three races in the six-race series, and who each lost in a final round to Ted Glinny, the 2012 PBSS champion.
Marty KuiackThis is the third season of PBSS competition, which is presented by Wiseco Performance Products.
Starting in Martin, Michigan, Kuiack qualified fourth in the field, but lost to Glinny, of Milton, Ontario, in the final.
Melissa PluimFor the next two races, held on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, Kuiack qualified eighth and fifth respectively, but was out in the semi-final of the first race and the first round in the second race.
Not able to continue to race the rest of the season, due to a broken wrist at the Cayuga event, Kuiack, of Milton, handed over the riding chores to his crew chief Melissa Pluim, from Pefferlaw, Ontario. Pluim qualified for the fourth race but was out in the first round.

Pro Bike Rider John Orfanidis – Fifth Place
CAYUGA, ON – Always one of the top contenders in the Pro Bike & Sled Series, John Orfanidis qualified number one or two for each of the six PBSS events in 2013.
John Orfanidis-1The popular drag race series, which pits Pro Bike and Pro Sled riders using a Sportsman (full tree) timing system, is presented by Wiseco Performance Products.
Riding his Suzuki GSX-R for the Quality Automotive team in Pro Bike, the Toronto, Ontario rider started out well in the first event of the year at Martin, Michigan, qualifying number one, but was eliminated in the first round.
John Orfanidis-2For the next three events, all held on the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, Orfanidis qualified first in two of the races and second in the other, but was plagued with bad luck during eliminations.
PBSS Pro Bike rider Ted Glinny wins PBSS season finale at Grand Bend
GRAND BEND, ON – The sixth and final event of the 2013 Pro Bike & Sled Series was completed over the “Thunder by the Beach” Weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex and Ted Glinny marched through the field of motorcycles and snowmobiles to win this race, his third of the year.
And series fellow competitor Dan Cryderman, who had a lead in the Championship Point Award Series, maintained this lead during the event to win his first PBSS championship, which is presented by Wiseco Performance Products. This race ended the third year of the PBSS, which pits Pro Motorcycle against Pro Sled riders in a Sportsman-style drag racing environment.
Pro Bike rider Glinny, of Milton, Ontario, qualified his 2000 Kawasaki in fourth with a 8.462-second, 149.80-mph posting behind the top three qualifiers, John Orfanidis of Toronto, Ontario, Cryderman, of Thamesville, Ontario, and Dave Vandereyken, of Acton, Ontario.
Glinny eliminated Pro Sled riders James Goudreau of Sudbury, Ontario and Bill Anderson of Seaforth, Ontario, and then had a bye run to meet up with number six qualifier and Pro Bike rider Melissa Pluim of Pefferlaw, Ontario.
Di Lecce named PMRA champion, Wilson and Gray take Quick 32 Sportsman Series title, and Cryderman win his first PBSS title
GRAND BEND, ON – Race winners and 2013 season champions were declared during the Thunder by the Beach Weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex for the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series.
GuistThis event was the final for all three drag race series, and along with new event winners, the championship in each series was announced.
After a stellar year with five victories in the PMRA, Rocky Di Lecce of Mississauga, Ontario has been named champion, his first in the Pro Modified series. The Top Sportsman team of Rob Gray and Bill Wilson of Ingersoll, Ontario won their first Quick 32 Sportsman Series title, and Pro Bike rider Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario won his first championship in PBSS racing.
PBSS season finale to be held at Grand Bend this Labor Day Weekend
CAYUGA, ON – With one race to go, the 2013 series champion in the Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products will be decided, and this event will take place this weekend at the Teamsters Canada Local 879 “Thunder by the Beach” race at the Grand Bend Motorplex.
This race will be the sixth and final event for the 2013 PBSS season, the third year the PBSS has competed with Pro Bikes and Pro Sleds racing in a Sportsman-style racing environment.
And the championship race has been a close one all year, with a pair of Pro Bike riders scoring two wins each.
In the series’ opening round, Ted Glinny of Milton, Ontario won with his Kawasaki Ninja at Martin, Michigan. Then for race two at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park, Dan Cryderman rode his Raceworks Suzuki to victory.
“Thunder by the Beach” at Grand Bend next stop for three drag race series
CAYUGA, ON – The next event for the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series will be held at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 30, 31, and September 1 during the track’s Teamsters Canada Local 879 “Thunder by the Beach” weekend.
This will be the seventh of eight races in 2013 for the PMRA, and the sixth and final event for the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and the PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products.
Di Lecce, Wilson & Gray, and Cryderman continue their winning ways for 2013
GRAND BEND, ON – The Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series continue to be dominated by multiple-time winners after the running of the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts held over the weekend at the Grand Bend Motorplex.
Rocky Di Lecce won his fifth PMRA race of the 2013 season, while the Top Sportsman team of Wilson and Gray captured the Quick 32 Sportsman Series final, and Dan Cryderman was victorious again in PBSS action.
Dan Cryderman leads Pro Bike & Sled Series going into Grand Bend this weekend
CAYUGA, ON – The Pro Bike & Sled Series returns to action as part of the annual and popular Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 9-11.
This will be the fifth race on the six-event PBSS schedule for 2013, which is presented by Wiseco Performance Products.
Racing gets underway Friday July 9 with round one of qualifying for the PBSS, but the weekend starts Thursday, August 8 with a Fan Fest Party hosted by Boston Pizza in Stratford.
After the Friday qualifying session scheduled for 7 pm, live entertainment will be presented by Ideal Supply in the NAPA tent.
Ted Glinny captures his second PBSS win at Canadian Nitro Nationals
CAYUGA, ON – Winning the latest round in the Pro Bike & Sled Series over the weekend was Pro Bike rider Ted Glinny.
The PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, took part in the Canadian Nitro Nationals held at TMP’s Cayuga Dragway. It was the fourth race on the 2013 PBSS schedule.
For Glinny, of Milton, Ontario, and 2013 PBSS champion, the win was his second for the season.
Riding his 1400-cc Kawasaki, Glinny qualified fourth in the field, and eliminated number one qualifier and Suzuki Pro Bike rider Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario in the final round. Glinny posted an 8.578-second, 144.67-mph pass over Cryderman’s 8.033, 155.73. The PBSS races within drag racing’s Sportsman-class rules on a dial-in basis with handicaps.
Di Lecce, Simmons Salemi, and Glinny victorious at Canadian Nitro Nationals
CAYUGA, ON – The latest rounds in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series were held over the weekend as part of the Canadian Nitro Nationals at TMP’s Cayuga Dragway.
DiLecceWinning his record-setting fourth consecutive PMRA race in a row was Rocky Di Lecce. Melanie Simmons Salemi drove her Top Dragster to victory in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and Ted Glinny picked up his second win of the year in the PBSS.
Driving his 1968 Camaro, Di Lecce, of Mississauga, Ontario, who qualified number one in the PMRA event, once again dominated the race, running through the ladder and taking out number two qualifier Derek Hawker of Corbyville, Ontario in the final round. Di Lecce has been victorious in all PMRA events for 2013.
