Summit Motorsports Park Seeking Groups to Help at Select Events

Norwalk, OH – Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio is welcoming groups to help at some of its most popular events this summer. Community, church, school, scout and other groups are sought for parking and clean-up detail at the 15th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, June 24-27 and the 44th Annual Kelly Night Under Fire, August 7, and for ushering at the 44th Annual Kelly Night Under Fire, August 7.

The roles are an incredibly important part of the Norwalk Experience, as parking attendants help with the flow of cars into and out of the facility, while ushers engage with excited guests in the grandstands, help them find their seats, answer general questions, take care of concerns or alert Summit Motorsports Park team members to take care of concerns.

Limited Number of Tickets Remain for Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals

Norwalk, OH – The Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals is one of the most popular and prominent annual events at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Race fans are fascinated by the fast times and awed by the action year after year in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Mod and other categories.

And now, preparations are underway for this year’s event, the 15th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, June 24-27. Nighttime qualifying for the enthralling NHRA categories that Friday will take things up a notch, and a full fireworks show and flames flying from Bob Motz’s jet engine-powered truck will put the exclamation mark on the evening.

When the global pandemic caused the cancellation of last year’s event, Summit Motorsports Park promised fans that their tickets would be honored at this year’s event. That, coupled with statewide capacity limits currently in place, means that a limited number of tickets are available for fans who don’t already have them.

Summit Motorsports Park Offering Track Rentals for Racers

Norwalk, OH – Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio is accepting reservations for track rentals for the 2021 race season.  Nearly fifty dates between April and October are available, and professional preparation of the track, which underwent a $1.6 million reconstruction in 2018 and has accommodated many records, will be provided.

The promptly-run program welcomes professional and sportsman drivers in cars of all horsepower levels rolling on street tires, slick tires and drag radial tires. It’s popular for those who, in addition to a prime track, want privacy, while testing. It’s also a favorite for car clubs.

Summit Motorsports Park will see a heaping helping of horsepower at events this year, including the PDRA (Professional Drag Racers Association) DeCerbo Construction American Door Slammer Challenge presented by Callies, May 27-29, NMRA Ford Performance Nationals, June 10-13, 15th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, June 24-27, 15th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, July 1-4, 44th Annual Kelly Night Under Fire, August 7 and 20th Annual NMCA All-American Nationals, August 26-29, among others.

Frank Hughes Named Director of Food and Beverage for Summit Motorsports Park

Norwalk, OH – Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio is pleased to welcome Frank Hughes as Director of Food and Beverage. Hughes, who is from New Jersey, was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage for Running Creek Casino in Upper Lake, California, where he was responsible for offerings in the casino’s restaurant, bar and concessions, and for internal and external catering. He also implemented a number of innovative ideas during his time there.

That role will serve Hughes well at Summit Motorsports Park, as he expands upon his expertise to ensure that food and beverage offerings are appealing and appetizing to guests who come from all over the country for sportsman and professional drag racing and entertainment.

“I believe that when people go to an event at a venue like Summit Motorsports Park, there should more than just snacks for them to eat,” said Hughes. “The venue should be a food destination with a variety of food for them to enjoy. I’m looking forward to the challenge of creating a menu that has something for everyone.”

In addition to the concession areas throughout Summit Motorsports Park, savory selections from Hughes and his team will be served in the suites and other areas where catering can be arranged.

United States Motorsports Association Partners With Summit Motorsports Park

Norwalk, OH -The United States Motorsports Association has been named the Official Motorsports Advocacy Group of Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

Formed in 2015, the United States Motorsports Association represents the racing industry in local, state and federal matters, and creates connections between members of the racing industry and government officials.

It also serves as a source of information and promotion.

“Summit Motorsports Park is a leading track in its operations, fan experience and racer participation,” said  Shawn Stewart, Executive Director for the United States Motorsports Association (USMA). “The track provides tremendous economic impact to the region. The USMA understands this value and helps communicate the importance of Summit Motorsports Park and racing as a whole to local, state and federal officials. We were proud to have supported the track with its light pole issues and finding a resolution. Now, we are dealing with a worldwide pandemic and business shutdowns. Evan Bader Promoted to Track Manager Position at Summit Motorsports Park

Norwalk, OH -Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio is proud to announce that Evan Bader has been named Track Manager.  Bader began working part-time at the famed family-owned facility when he was ten years old, and transitioned to full-time upon graduating in 2016 with a degree in Sport Management and Public Relations from Ohio Northern, where he also was a goalie for the university’s soccer team.

He has had several roles through the years, including race operations, marketing and announcing, and the medley has strengthened his skills and savvy.

As Track Manager, Bader will organize and oversee all on-track operations, including preparing the track surface, which underwent a $1.6 million reconstruction in 2018. He will ensure that supplies are available and equipment is accessible when needed, and work alongside a well-trained team to present a perfectly prepared track surface for all types of cars and motorcycles and all levels of horsepower.

Bader also will work to create new events, develop innovative racer programs, expand the track rental side of live events and continue to help with marketing events. He may occasionally do some announcing.

2021 Summit Motorsports Park Schedule Stuffed with Power and Pageantry

Norwalk, OH – The most packed and plentiful schedule in the history of Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio is being presented for 2021.

In addition to the familiar favorites, there will be added attractions to make the season even more substantial and significant.

Familiar favorites include the 40th Annual Spring Warm-Up, April 10, followed by the season’s first Edelbrock Super Series, which has expanded to fifteen events beginning on April 17, and the season’s first Wednesday Fun Night, which will be on most Wednesdays beginning May 5.

Additionally, Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars will fly for the 15th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, June 24-27, and the 15th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, one of the largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events in the country, will be July 1-4. Classic cars will come together for the 20th Annual Lingenfelter Performance Blue Suede Cruise, July 9-11.

Chargers, Challengers and other collectible cars will congregate for the 9th Annual Monster Mopar Weekend, July 23-25, and Trans Am, Tempests and other treasured cars will cruise in for the 30th Annual Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals, July 30-Aug. 1.

$393,975 Purse at Summit Motorsports Park’s $40 Grand Nationals & No Box Bonanza

Norwalk, OH – Anticipation is high for the 29th Annual Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels $40 Grand Nationals presented by Hughes Performance and the 24th Annual Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels No Box Bonanza presented by Injector Experts at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, and entries are being accepted.

The events are widely recognized for welcoming some of the most competitive racers from across the country, and for offering substantial payouts.

The 29th Annual Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels $40 Grand Nationals presented by Hughes Performance is set for Sept. 3-5, 2021, and will feature a fantastic $262,875 payout. The winner will receive $15,000 on Friday, $40,000 on Saturday and $20,000 on Sunday, while the runner-up will receive $7,500 on Friday, $20,000 on Saturday and $10,000 on Sunday. Also collecting cash will be racers going at least three rounds.

The cost to enter the eighth-mile event is $600 for all three days. A payment plan is available, with $200 payable upon registration, $200 by April 5 and $200 by July 5. The event, which will have buy-backs, is limited to 425 entries, and more than half have already been sold. There will be plenty of product giveaways.
