Baehr, Buchanan & Walker Stand Out at 25th Annual No Box Bonanza Reloaded
Norwalk, OH – Racers from Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and other states rolled in ready to take on some of the
toughest competition in the country at the 25th Annual No Box Bonanza Reloaded, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2023 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
They had their sights set on a giant $113,575.00 guaranteed purse, and as expected, the competition was intense and incredible.
When dew filled the air on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, the final round of eliminations, featuring Rich Baehr of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Steve Collier of Huber, Heights, Ohio, was moved to Saturday. Baehr was ready on the starting line with an .012 reaction time and traveled to a 6.25 and the Summit Motorsports Park Winner’s Circle after Collier turned on the red light. The promised payout for Friday was $7,500 for the winner and $3,000 for the runner-up.
On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, A.J. Buchanan of Vickey, Ohio, who was recently crowned the 2023 Summit Motorsports Park Edelbrock Pro champion, took his usual cool, calm and collected approach to arrive at a .005 reaction time, a 5.86 elapsed time and the win over Bill Kinsey of Meadville, Pennsylvania, who clocked a 6.67. The guaranteed payout for Saturday was $20,000 for the winner and $7,500 for the runner-up.

Summit Motorsports Park’s Inaugural Mopar Event Excites from Start to Finish
Norwalk, OH – With ambition and anticipation, Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio staged its Inaugural Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge
Jeep Ram World of Mopar presented by Arrington Performance, Sept. 22-24, 2023 and by all accounts, it was an extraordinary event.
Produced and presented by Summit Motorsports Park with Mopar enthusiasts in mind, it featured three days of racing, a Fun Field Car Show, swap meet, car corral, manufacturers’ midway, concert by Trainwreck Country Band and fireworks.
“We couldn’t be happier with our Inaugural Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram World of Mopar presented by Arrington Performance,” said Bill Bader Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “Our team spent several months organizing this event, and we all wanted it to be successful, and we are all very grateful that it was. We had a tremendous turnout, and we look forward to an even bigger event next year. The planning starts now.”
Team Summit Motorsports Park Wins the NHRA Division 3 Team Finals!
Norwalk, OH – Thirty-two exceptional Edelbrock Super Series racers qualified to represent Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio at the
North Central Division Summit Racing Series Team Finals, Sept. 13-17, 2023, at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Indiana, and they all played a part in propelling the team to the 2023 Team Championship.
On Sunday, Jim Ring earned the win in Sportsman, which qualified him to race toward a World Championship at the NHRA Nevada Nationals, Oct. 26-29, 2023 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Additionally on Sunday, John Boes earned the runner-up finish in Super Pro and Brandon Buchanan earned the runner-up finish in High School.
In a Summit Motorsports Park sweep on Saturday, Aubrey Collins won Best Appearing in Super Pro, Matt Ball won Best Appearing in Pro, Matt Short won Best Appearing in Super Bike and Scott Chitty won Best Appearing in Sportsman.

Schuster, Willi and Francisco Triumphant at 31st Annual Rocko Machine $40 Grand Nationals
Norwalk, OH – With commitment and composure, racers climbed into their vehicles to compete for a share of $262,875 at the 31st Annual
Rocko Machine $40 Grand Nationals presented by Hughes Performance, Sept. 1-3, 2023, at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
Round after round, they were steadfast and strong in their pursuit of the winner’s circle, proving they are among the best of the best.
On Sunday, Sept. 3, J.P. Schuster of Vienna, Ohio, and Kelly Smith of White Cloud, Michigan met in the final round of eliminations. Schuster, who won at last year’s event, backed that up with a win at this year’s event. This time, it was with an .020 on the tree and a 4.65 on the top end against Smith, who was .026 on the tree and 5.08 on the top end. The guaranteed payout for the Sunday race was $20,000 for the winner and $10,000 for the runner-up.
On Saturday, Sept. 2, Mike Willi of Valley City, Ohio, and Justin Vickers of Alliance, Ohio made it all the way to the final round of eliminations. Willi left the line with an .020 reaction time while Vickers left the line with an .010 reaction time, and Willi wheeled to the win with a 5.98 in his beautiful pickup truck while Vickers arrived at a 6.67 and the runner-up finish. The guaranteed payout for the Saturday race was an incredible $40,000 for the winner, and $20,000 for the runner-up.
Mopars Making Their Way to Summit Motorsports Park!
NORWALK, OH – Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio is going all-out for its Inaugural Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram World
of Mopar presented by Arrington Performance, Sept. 22-24, 2023!
The event, which will be professionally produced and presented entirely by Summit Motorsports Park with Mopar enthusiasts in mind, will feature three days of racing, a car show, swap meet, car corral, manufacturers’ midway, concert by Trainwreck Country Band and fireworks.
Racers will have their Chargers, Challengers, Belvederes, Barracudas, Road Runners, Rams and other muscular Mopars set up to set sail down track in various categories, including Top Gun Ignited by FireCore 50, A&A Transmission HEMI Super Stock, Mancini Racing Nostalgia Super Stock, Koffel’s Place Super Pro,CRT Transmissions Pro and TTI Exhaust Sportsman.
Summit Motorsports Park president Bill Bader Jr. and the Summit Motorsports Park team are inserting into this event select elements that make the park’s other events stand out and stand the test of time, so in addition to being a memorable celebration of Mopars, it will have the Summit Motorsports Park stamp on it.
Showstopping Performances Staged at Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire
Norwalk, OH – After a year of planning for a pulse-pounding production, the 46th Annual Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire was presented to
a packed house on Aug. 5, 2023 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
“This annual event meant a lot to my father, who wanted to see 50 years of it before he passed away,” said Bill Bader Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “Unfortunately, he didn’t make it, but my family and I have no doubt that he was watching over this year’s event, and probably critiquing it from above. Our team worked tremendously hard all year long to make this a magical and memorable evening full of surprises, and our performers gave it everything they had. We hope our guests feel that we hit a home run.”
In addition to touching tributes to Bill Bader Sr., who passed away last year, Bob Motz, who retired after performing at this event for 45 years in his jet truck, and Al Zukauskas, who recently lost his life in his jet dragster, the event was packed with entertainment through the finale.
Fans could hear engines roaring above America’s Racetrack as the Hooligans Flight Team approached for a dramatic flyover during opening ceremonies, which included introductions of the entertainers.

Norwalk, OH – The 46th Annual Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire will be an exceptionally electrifying experience on Aug. 5, 2023 at Summit
Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, as the celebration continues for the 60th year of the park and the 50th year of the Bader family’s ownership of it.
“There are no words to describe how excited we are to present the 46th Annual Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire to our fans,” said Bill Bader Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “There are also no words to describe just how special this event is going to be, since we are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. This event meant so much to my father, Bill Bader Sr., and he wanted, more than anything, for it to continue to entertain and excite fans, and I’m here to tell you that is exactly what we intend to do.”
The Hooligans Flight Team will perform a dramatic flyover during opening ceremonies, and famous Funny Car racers John Force, Ron Capps, Robert Hight, Cruz Pedregon, Tim Wilkerson and Dale Creasy Jr. will put on a stellar show while Jet Dragster drivers Ernie Bogue, Russ Glover, Jeff Hoekstra, Al Zukauskas, Josh Graham, Dawn Perdue and David Gates will aim for a North American Jet Car Championship.
