Edelbrock Named Title Sponsor of Summit Motorsports Park’s Super Series
Summit Motorsports Park is proud to announce that Edelbrock has been named title sponsor of the park’s popular 
Super Series.
Categories including Edelbrock Super Pro, Edelbrock Pro, Edelbrock Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation, Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike, Edelbrock Stock, NHRA Junior Street and Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Bear Motorsports Junior Dragsters presented by Wiseco will be part of the Edelbrock Super Series contested on select Saturdays April 22 through Oct. 7, 2017.
Summit Motorsports Park Champions Celebrated During Ceremony
The remarkable accomplishments of the 2016 Summit Motorsports Park champions were celebrated at the 43rd 
Annual Accel Banquet of Champions at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio, on January 14, 2017.
The ceremony opened with music, special lighting and side-by-side entrances by Bear Motorsports Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco Novice champion Zachary Doell and his father, Dan Doell; Intermediate champion Michael Crowell and his father, Steve Crowell; Advanced champion Courtney Grisez and her brother, Connor Grisez; Wiseco/Cycle Tech Superbike champion Rick McWaters and his girlfriend, Korbi Durfee; Accel Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation champion Jim Ring and his wife, Kimberley Ring; Lakewood Pro champion Mike O’Rourke, Sr. and his son, Mike O’Rourke, Jr. and Quick Time Super Pro champion Allen Moore and his dad, Mike Moore.
Summit Motorsports Park Named 2016 NMCA Track of the Year
During an especially engaging NMCA awards ceremony on Dec. 9, 2016 at the Indiana Convention Center, Summit 
Motorsports Park was named 2016 NMCA Track of the Year.
“NMCA is proud to have Summit Motorsports Park as a partner track, but even more proud to have it as a close and personal friend,” said Steve Wolcott, president and CEO of ProMedia Events, which produces NMCA, NMCA WEST and NMRA. “The B Guarantee (the park’s pledge to present the best show possible at the best price possible) was instrumental in the development of our own ProPledge customer service program, which has helped NMCA grow.”
The 2016 NMCA event at Summit Motorsports Park saw nearly twice as many cars and spectators as the 2015 event despite an unfavorable weather forecast, which Summit Motorsports Park president Bill Bader, Jr. attributes to the caliber of cars and competition featured.
Summit Motorsports Park & Total Venue Concepts Partner for 2017 Shakedown at the Summit
Plans have been put into place for Summit Motorsports Park and Total Venue Concepts to partner for the Summit 
Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit 15 presented by Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels, Sept. 14-17, 2017 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
According to park president Bill Bader, Jr., Total Venue Concepts’ Kurt Johnson will collaborate with the park’s marketing team and track manager, Sam Lance, for the event’s marketing and track preparation.
“Shakedown is a really unique event for us, and it’s starting to take on its own identity,” said Bader, Jr. “Because of that, we want to do everything we can to ensure its continued success.”
Free Cavalcade of Stars Tickets to Accompany Ticket Orders through Dec. 31
As a special and sensational bonus, Summit Motorsports Park fans who purchase tickets by Dec. 31, 2016 for events 
taking place in 2017 will receive four tickets valued at $200 total for the 11th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser.
The largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in the country will be May 19-21, and is part of a lively line-up at America’s Racetrack that includes the 11th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, featuring 330-plus mph Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars and fireworks, June 22-25, Trick Flow Specialties Fun Ford Reloaded 2, July 7-9 and the 16th Annual Wanda Brand AkzoNobel Blue Suede Cruise, July 14-16.
Morgan Curtis Captures Patriot 500 Racing Championship at Summit Motorsports Park
As a veteran of the United States Air Force and a parent with a passion for positively influencing children, AJ Myers 
of Copley, Ohio created Patriot 500 Racing in 2009.
As part of the nonprofit program, he visits schools to talk about science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and to aid in visualization, he takes with him his ’96 Top Sportsman Corvette, which is named American Pride.
Upon partnering with Summit Motorsports Park for the program in 2015, Myers tapped Bear Motorsports presented by Wiseco Intermediate Junior Dragster driver Aubrey Collins to help introduce it to drivers and their families, and he then announced a points program for 2016 for junior dragster drivers who sign up and run associated decals on their vehicles.
Tickets to Take in 2017 Action at Summit Motorsports Park on Sale Nov. 14
Summit Motorsports Park will turn up the wick while offering everything from wheelstanders to wild racing and 
fireworks to fuelers as part of the 2017 season, and tickets to take it all in go on sale at noon Nov. 14, 2016.
A variety of packages and prices are available for the 11th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, the largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in the country, May 19-21; the 11th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, featuring 330-plus mph Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars and fireworks, June 22-25 and Trick Flow Specialties Fun Ford Reloaded 2, which Ford fans will flock to, July 7-9.
The 16th Annual Wanda Brand AkzoNobel Blue Suede Cruise will captivate with a Sweet 16 theme, July 14-16; Dodges, Plymouths, AMCs and Chryslers will cruise in to the 5th Annual Monster Mopar Weekend, July 28-30 and everything from Tempests to Trans Ams will take to the track surface at the 26th Annual Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals, August 4-6.
Dolamore Dialed-In for Summit Racing Series National Championship
After watching his dad race a motorcycle for several years, Kyle Dolamore decided that he, too, wanted to race a 
motorcycle.
He began by climbing onto his dad’s Suzuki and learning the lay of the land at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio four years ago. After making a few modifications to the motorcycle to get it to run low tens – and to get him accustomed to going quicker and faster – he climbed onto a new Suzuki two years ago, and now lays down 8.50s in the track’s highly competitive Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike category.
“Watching my dad race helped me a lot when I started racing, and it continues to help me today,” said Dolamore, of his dad, Tony Dolamore. “He also wanted me to ride with him, and I’m glad that I get to.”
Dolamore, who lives in Wellington, Ohio and is a senior at Black River High School in Sullivan, Ohio, finished in seventh place in Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike points in 2016 after consistently going rounds. He also qualified to be part of the team representing Summit Motorsports Park at the NHRA North Central Division Summit Racing Series Finals at Lucas Oil Raceway, Sept. 16-18, 2016, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
2017 Summit Motorsports Park Schedule Sizzles
Following a year filled with remarkable and record-setting racing at Summit Motorsports Park is the release of its 
2017 schedule.
Among the offerings are the 36th Annual Spring Warm-Up on April 15 followed by the 11th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, which is billed as the largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in the country, May 19-21.
Super Summit, which sees sizable increases in racers and race fans each year, is June 9-10, and the 11th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, which is heavy on high horsepower and high mph Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars and fireworks, is June 22-25. Fords will be the focus for Fun Ford Reloaded 2, July 7-9, and street-rodders will cruise in for the Sweet 16 Wanda Brand AkzoNobel Blue Suede Cruise, July 14-16.
2017 Shakedown at the Summit Date and $150,500 Purse Set
While the 2016 Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson Performance 
Tires and Wheels was one of the most enticing and exhilarating offerings in the event’s long and lofty history, even more action and massive payouts are promised for the 2017 event.
It will be Sept. 14-17 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
The colossal $150,500 combined purse includes the $66,600 earmarked for the event’s quickest and fastest category, ProLine Outlaw Pro Mod, with $40,000 of that awarded to the winner, which, in 2016, was Flash Fiscus, who motored his turbocharged Mustang to a 5.97.
Other categories contested include Precision Turbo and Engine Outlaw 10.5, Speedwire Systems Outlaw Limited Street, Holbrook Racing Engines Top Sportsman, Wiseco X275, Callies Pro Street, Team Z Motorsports Ultra Street and Trick Flow Specialties Open Comp.
