Top Sportsman and Chevrolet Performance Stock Added to 2015 NMCA Class List
Santa Ana, CA – As the 2014 NMCA Flowmaster Drag Racing Series season nears completion, with the World Finals at Lucas Oil 
Raceway in Indianapolis ready to go on October 9-12, NMCA is already planning for 2015. NMCA is excited to announce the addition of Top Sportsman to the list of classes for next year, as the sanctioning body enters its 23rd year of competition.
The class line-up will also include the recently introduced Chevrolet Performance (CP) Stock class utilizing the new Chevrolet Performance DR525 sealed engine. This class has already proven to be extremely popular with racers, with several new cars already nearing completion for exhibition at the NMCA Finals this coming October.
Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed Program with NMCA/NMCA WEST to Conclude in 2014
Santa Ana, CA – The Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed program, which has been a part of NMCA & NMCA WEST events since 
mid-2011, will conclude with the final event in 2014. Having similar race categories, NMCA assisted NHRA by taking over the Unleashed program in mid-2011 to support their racers and sponsors. The Unleashed program continued with NMCA/NMCA WEST through a multi-year sponsorship for almost four years.
“Since we had the only series outside of NHRA that was able to award Wallys to racers, it was very special,” said Steve Wolcott, President & CEO of ProMedia Events. “We understood that the program would only last a few years and we were happy that we were able to partner with NHRA to bring their Unleashed program to a very deserving group of racers.”

Car Nationals featuring the Chevrolet Performance LSX Challenge Series.The fifth race of the Flowmaster NMCA Drag Racing Series, featuring NHRA Unleashed presented by Aerospace Components, produced record runs and personal bests at Summit Motorsports Park. Despite high levels of humidity and warm temperatures, the legendary track surface at Summit Motorsports Park delivered consistent traction, allowing drivers and crew chiefs to remove the “guess factor” on a proper setup.
World’s Fastest Street Cars Head to St. Louis on May 23-25

Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois… just minutes outside of St. Louis. With the famous Gateway Arch in the background, the Quick Fuel Technology NMCA Muscle Car Nationals will bring tons of family-friendly excitement to one of the most popular race tracks in the Midwest.
Enthusiasts will enjoy 250+ mph heads up racing and a huge car show on both Saturday and Sunday with all years/makes/models plus a manufacturers’ midway that includes the best and the brightest from the aftermarket industry. The swap meet will have everything an automotive enthusiast needs, from used parts to model cars, at prices that won’t break the wallet. Special events on the race track include the Dave Duell Nostalgia Super Stock Classic, the Gear Vendors True Street class and Dial-In for Dollars Bracket Racing. NMCA to Host New Radial Wars Category at All 2014 Events
Santa Ana, CA – Effectively immediately, the NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals is adding a new category, Radial Wars, 
which will be sponsored by Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. It will be contested in the eighth-mile distance and will compete in the five remaining national events on the NMCA schedule. Class winners compete for an increased purse of $4,000 to win, plus pro level contingencies, and the ultimate prize: NHRA Wally trophies at NHRA-sanctioned tracks under the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed program.
The Radial Wars class debuts April 10-13, 2014, at Atlanta Dragway (Commerce, GA) with the Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals, presented by Miller Welders. “I think it’s a big step forward for NMCA and it’s great to see them listening to the racers,” said Tom Kundrik, Motorsport Manager at Mickey Thompson. He continued, “It’s awesome for Radial racing to have a sanctioning body where they can run for a championship and the NMCA is a great place for them to compete.”

The NHRA, Aerospace Components, and ProMedia Events will once again combine forces and continue Aerospace Components NHRA 
Unleashed in conjunction with the NMCA & NMCA WEST event series. Outlined in a multi-year agreement reached between the NHRA and ProMedia Events, the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed Series will again be contested at all NHRA Member Tracks on the 2014 NMCA & NMCA WEST series tours.
Once again all official NMCA & NMCA WEST points class winners will be eligible to receive an NHRA “Wally” at each of the Aerospace Components Unleashed events contested at NHRA-sanctioned facilities. Aerospace Components’ continued sponsorship of NHRA Unleashed provides added benefits to both the Flowmaster-sponsored NMCA and NMCA WEST event series, which include more than $3.5 million purse and cash contingencies for all eleven events.
Mike Henry To Run In Pro Street At The NMCA West Finals

Bakersfield, CA – San Francisco native Mike Henry will be making his Pro Street/Pro Mod debut this weekend at the NMCA West Finals 
at Famosa Raceway. Henry who is a 6.90 Pro Slammers standout will be competing with some of the best drivers on the west coast. The DXL Transport sponsored 1981 Camaro will take a shot at the 1320 with a 773ci fuel injected, nitrous powered big block built by Luther Lane and Henry. As always nitrous tuner Pat Watson will be on hand while the rest of the team preps the car for competition, including his son 16yr old Michael Henry III.
It has always been Mike’s dream to compete in pro mod and with very little financial help he will make his dream come true. The car has run some good numbers in the Pro Slammers class but now they’ll have to turn up the power to compete at this level. We spoke to Henry and he had this to say, “We made some changes to the car to get it ready for this event and hopefully they work out. But our main goal is to make some good runs and qualify for the program.

Mickey Thompson Announces Official Sponsorship of the 2012 NMCA Series and Super street 10.5 Class

STOW, OH – Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels returns to National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) racing as the official 2012 series and Super Street 10.5W class title sponsor for all seven national events. The company will also offer contingency awards for all Pro and Sportsman classes including Pro Street, Super Street 10.5W, Nostalgia 
Pro Street, Xtreme Street, Pro Stock, Drag Radial, Mean Street, Late-Model EFI, Open Comp, Nostalgia Super Stock, Muscle Car and special event classes.
Pro class competitors who earn the win using four Mickey Thompson tires will earn a $300 award, with $150 to be awarded to the runners-up. In the Sportsman classes, winning racers will earn $150, and runners-up will receive $75. Additional payouts will be awarded to winners and runners-up using four Mickey Thompson wheels in the Pro Street, Super Street, Nostalgia Pro Street, Xtreme Street, Pro Stock and Drag Radial classes.
