ProMedia Names Lonnie Grim as NMRA, NMCA and NMCA WEST Event Technical Director
Santa Ana, CA – ProMedia Events & Publishing is pleased to announce the promotion of Lonnie Grim to the post of 
Event Technical Director for the NMRA, NMCA, and NMCA WEST event series. Grim is currently the Technical Director for the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series and will continue those duties as well. Lonnie Grim
Grim is no rookie when it comes to technical operations at racing events; he is a 20-year veteran in the sport of drag racing, assuming many roles through those years. The Arkansas resident currently holds an NHRA Silver level SFI certification and has been an NMRA/NMCA tech inspector since 2007. In addition to sitting on various SFI and NHRA councils, Grim is just as experienced in the driver’s seat after spending seven years as a full-time Sportsman racer in NHRA drag racing and he also operates Lonnie Grim Motorsports, a multi-faceted drag racing and street rod custom shop.

Spark Plugs over the weekend of August 26-28 and it’s guaranteed to bring non-stop excitement to the fans of Summit Motorsports Park. The 15th Annual NMCA World Street Finals featuring the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series brings out some of the best race teams in the country for a giant field of heads up and index drag racing. All of this action on the drag strip is combined with a weekend that includes TV stars from Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws, all-domestic car shows on Saturday and Sunday along with a huge manufacturers’ midway and more.
Race Wrap for 15th Annual NMCA All-American Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis
Santa Ana, CA – After a long weekend chock full of some epic racing, the 2016 NMCA All-American Nationals 
featuring the 10th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout has come to a close. Held at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana, nearly twenty classes were hotly contested and racers were all looking to get to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle.
VP Racing Fuels’ Xtreme Pro Mod class was full of turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous cars all vying for the right to take a trip to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle, but four rounds of eliminations whittled them down to just one. It was a battle of the Camaros in the finals but ultimately it was Billy Banaka of Brandon, Missouri, who reached the big end with his car in front. Banaka, the number-four qualifier, ran the eighth mile in 3.914 seconds at 198.38 mph and defeated Steve Summers of Utica, Illinois, the number-three qualifier, who ran 3.995 at 204.76 mph.

Race Wrap for 10th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis
Santa Ana, CA – The Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout celebrated its 10th anniversary at Lucas Oil Raceway 
Indianapolis with sunny skies and scorching hot competition. The event was the second stop on the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series tour and racers were hoping to grab the trophies and prize money available in the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle. Also at stake this year for top-ten finishers in the series is a 1969 Camaro rolling chassis plus from Real Deal Steel and the NMCA.
JE Pistons Drag Radial featured LSX big hitters like Mark Carlyle, Anthony Manna, Joe DeDona, and Andy Essary among others. Manna posted a 4.51 to take number-one qualifier status, and in the final, it was Manna squaring off against Mark Carlyle’s Atomic Orange Corvette. When the lights came down, Manna chopped the Tree with a .000 light. Carlyle wasn’t far behind with a .045, but his Corvette knocked off the tires seconds into the run while Manna stormed to a 4.55 at 181 mph for the win.

Race Wrap for 15th Annual Quick Fuel Technology NMCA Bluegrass Nationals at Beech Bend Raceway Park
Santa Ana, CA – In addition to an endless supply of southern hospitality and sweet tea, the 15th Annual Quick Fuel 
Technology NMCA Bluegrass Nationals featuring the Dave Duell Classic served up plenty of action, May 12-15, 2016, at Beech Bend Raceway, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Personal bests were the words of the weekend, at what is the third stop on the NMCA’s six-event schedule for 2016. NMCA KY 2016 4
The powerhouses were out in full force for VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod, and among them was Stephan Stringer of Somerset, Kentucky, who drove his ’68 Camaro to a 3.88 at 189 mph to claim low ET and the top spot in qualifying. Steve Summers of Utica, Illinois, pushed his 70 1/2 Camaro to a 206 mph top speed during qualifying. Stringer stayed with it through the final, where he met up with Tim Savell of Terry, Mississippi, in the Bankston Motorsports ’13 Camaro, and Savell took the victory with a 3.81 at 198 mph to Stringer’s 3.88 at 189 mph and earned his team a trip to the Aerospace Components Winners Circle.

New for 2016 is the addition of Street Outlaws’ TV stars, Doc and Monza, who will be signing autographs on Saturday along with Larsen Motorsports’ jet dragster team. The Chevrolet Performance Nationals includes six of the coolest LS (and modern LT) race classes on the planet! Everything from JE Pistons Drag Radial, a turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous-powered GM class with speeds upwards of 200mph, to Gear Vendors True Street for street legal cars and trucks will be tearing up the race track all weekend long! Big money is up for grabs in the heads up classes as well as for all three bracket racing categories. Race Wrap for 14th Annual Ross Racing Pistons NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem in Bradenton, Florida
Santa Ana, CA – It was an Xtreme weekend at the NMCA season opener at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida as 
the 2016 drag racing season kicked off with new classes, record-setting performances, and more.
The fastest class on the property saw significant changes over the winter, with the new VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod racing an eighth-mile distance, and attracting over 20 cars to compete. Tinley Park, Illinois’ Randy Adler put his ’57 Chevy Pro Mod on the top of the qualifying sheet with a 3.80, and he would wade through the field to meet Raymond Commisso of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The two supercharged cars lined up and at the hit, Adler’s Chevy broke traction, allowing Commisso to streak to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle.
In Mickey Thompson Radial Wars, it was Keith Berry that laid down the first 3-second pass (3.89) in the class’ history during Friday night’s first qualifying session. The rest of the field wasn’t far behind with the next three cars logging 4.0-second runs. Berry fell to DeWayne Mills in the semifinals, where Daniel Pharris had a bye run. As the air began to cool, the setting was ripe for quick times and we were in for a show. Pharris got off the line first and the holeshot would pay off as he took the win with a 3.99 to Mills’ quicker 3.97.

Santa Ana, CA – The NMCA Muscle Car Nationals Series starts the 2016 season in style with a high octane, supercharged season opener at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, the weekend of March 10-13. The 14th Annual Ross Racing Pistons NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem event includes screaming fast 3,500+HP VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mods, Mickey Thompson Radial Wars, wild Street Outlaws, Edelbrock Xtreme Street and more, all competing for the chance to visit the Aerospace Components Winners Circle on Sunday. One-day spectator tickets are just $25 with free parking and access to the action on the track, in the pits, at the car show and on the midway. Kids 12 and under are always free!
The warm weather, eager fans and close proximity to the Florida Gulf beaches makes this a popular destination event for thousands of American muscle car fans.
