NEOPMA Battle’s Weather Early on in 2011 Season

Huntington, NY – Spring 2011 has been extremely wet and unpredictable in the Northeast to say the least, and the
Northeast Outlaw Pro-Mod Association hasn’t caught many breaks this year. As with any other outdoor motorsport event, weather dictates attendance and car counts.
Today’s economy and weather has created hesitance. Before teams move, weather checks will dictate when and if they start down the road to an event. Weather, economy and high fuel prices spares nobody, from the Race Teams to the Tracks, to the Supporters.
The one positive is the loyalty of the teams and tracks as many teams show up even in inclement weather forecasts. We look forward to a great rest of the year with better than ever events, faster cars, more new members and improved weather.

Atco, NJ – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods return to Atco this Saturday, June 11th for Super Saturday. This “Extreme Pro Mod Event“ featuring quarter mile Pro Mod racing will consist of two classes, Blower/Turbo’s and Nitrous. These
Pro Mods can cover the 1/4 mile in the high 5 second range at speeds approaching 240 mph.
In the Blower/Turbo class after two events there is a tight points battle with Tim O’Hare leading in the points standings after a win at VMP’s Super Chevy in his 68’ Camaro, with last year’s champion Steve King close behind 2nd in points, and newcomer to the series Jim Bersani in his twin turbocharged 1957 Chevrolet Belair 3rd in points.
In the Nitrous class after two events Matt Deitsch leads in the points standings after winning at VMP’s Super Chevy in his 68’ Camaro, with Gary Courtier in his featured 68’ Camaro in 2nd, and last year’s champion Fredy Scriba 3rd in points.
As always track owner Joe Sway Sr. says he will prep the track for “Maximum Traction”, and Joe is always true to his word, so 5.90’s might not be out of the question, and with the growth of the series comes more competitors and greater competition, and many of last year’s competitors stepped up their engine programs to try and dip into the fives, both on the nitrous side and blower/turbo side.
