NEOPMA ANNOUNCES 2013 PRO MOD WARRIORS SCHEDULE

Huntington, NY – NEOPMA has released the 2013 Pro Mod Warriors schedule which will feature ten events at six world class facilities NEOPMA_Logoduring the coming year. These pro mod focused events will showcase the talents of racers in the NEOPMA Drag Racing Series and will be held at Maryland International Raceway, Capitol Raceway, Maple Grove Raceway, Atco Raceway, Virginia Motorsports Park and Piedmont Dragway.

“We are really excited about the 2013 NEOPMA season. Ten events at six great venues are incredible in this state of economy. We also increased our payouts and year end championship fund” said John Mazzorana, Association President. “All ten events have their own challenges and excitement. If you haven’t been to one of the NEOPMA quarter mile pro mod events you are missing out on some great side by side 6.00 second 250 mph pro mod runs. You will not be disappointed. NEOPMA CROWNS 2012 CHAMPIONS IN SPECIAL AWARDS CEREMONY

Levittown, NY – The 2012 series champions were crowned Saturday Night at the annual “Night of Champions” gala evening for the Bernie SchackerNortheast Outlaw Pro Mod Association.

The event honored the top five in each Pro Modified class, along with this year’s presentation of the Life Time Achievement Award and other awards at Domenico’s Restaurant and Conference Center in Levittown, NY.

It was a year to remember for the Blower/Turbo Class Champion, Steve Drummond. Steve ran the tables and won every event in 2012, which is an incredible feat.

“This is definitely an incredible honor”, said Steve Drummond, who is from Delaware and drives the twin turbo powered 2008 Ford Mustang Pro Modified owned by Mike Bradford. “It was an unbelievable year for us, and it was a very competitive field. I want to thank not only my wife Kathy for her support, but also all my team members that helped made this happen.” Rounding out the top five in blower/turbo points – Tim, O’Hare, Gerry Capano, Jim Bersani and Dwayne Wolfe.

NEOPMA Announce a New Format for 2013 Season

NEOPMA would first off like to again congratulate Fred Scriba and Steve Drummond for their championship accomplishments last year with the NEOPMA. Now they get to face off this year in competition. It’s going to be a wild year……

Everyone agrees that this type of competition and rivalry will increase racer and spectator attendance. Our Blower, Turbo and Nitrous Teams seem to be evenly matched with our fastest cars running in the 5.90s to 6.0s range, so the competition will be exciting with side by side racing down the quarter mile.

NEOPMA Returns to MIR May 11th and 12th

BUDDS CREEK, MD – The Season opener at Maryland International Raceway was UNBELIEVABLE with many Pro Mods first time out this year running in the 5.9s and 6.0 range. On April 20th and 21st  the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods engines were bellowing their fire fueled by high octane fuel, nitrous oxide and alcohol creating 3000 plus horsepower driving the battle of the Warrior Spartans into a racing rage of excitement. The battle ground was Maryland International Raceway where we began the season of racing with nitrous, blower and turbo cars … 8 cars of the 22 running in the low

6.0 range or faster. The racing battle was called off after 3 great qualifying passes and two exciting rounds of door to door 6.04 racing due to rain.

The WAR continues on May 11th and 12th at MIR. This time we will run our normal format with Blowers and Turbo’s running a separate field from Nitrous. The two 8 car fields will include some of the fan favorite warriors like Tim O’Hare, Jim Bersani, Steve Drummond, Tommy Gray, Larry Higgenbottham, Dwayne Wolfe and many others on the Blower / Turbo side. On the Nitrous side the vendetta continues between Matt Deitsch, Fred Scriba  and George Williams , Isaias Rojas,… all going 6.0s and faster. Todd Fontana and Vinny DeMieri plan to return and show the guys that their consistent passes will make them extremely competitive.

NEOPMA Season Opener at Maryland International Raceway April 20-22

Mechanicsville, MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods will start the season at the EAST COAST DOOR WARZ with No Holds Barred 16 car field mix of Blowers, Turbo’s and Nitrous cars, and a 8 Car Pro Mod Shootout. You won’t want to miss some of the fastest quarter mile Pro Mod cars in the country finely tuning their chariots for the upcoming race battles. This race extravaganza will feature one mixed blend of more than 30 Pro Mod racers trying to qualify. That means you will watch 24 super fast, kick butt Pro Mods battling for the prize money.

The Battle ground is set at the smooth, extremely fast track …MARYLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY. The Blower and Turbo cars are strutting their 3000 plus horsepower war machines with confidence while the Nitrous challengers are feeling powerful with their new Nitrous Monsters.

Royce Miller owner and General Manager of MIR is quoted saying “I am really thrilled that the East Coast Door Warz is now an official 1320 Pro Mod Warriors points race. This is going to be an awesome weekend with a 16 car mixed field and an 8 car Shootout with shakedown runs on Friday night, qualifying Saturday and Sunday eliminations. Not only am I looking forward to seeing a great race , but  with  the cast of characters I can’t wait to hear the smack talking and wild bench racing fish tales “.

NEOPMA Crowns Winners at Maryland International Raceway’s Superchargers Showdown

Mechanicsville, MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods fourth “Extreme” Event” of the season at MIR October 21st and 22nd was a huge success with huge crowds, great weather and over 33 Pro Mods contesting sixteen qualifying positions in each of the two classes. Turbo cars are on the rise in the series with 6 of the 17 cars in the Blower/Turbo class running turbo’s.

In the cool October weather, with track temperatures at times as low as 60 degrees, which means nothing when Royce Miller and the MIR staff are prepping the track, as the track was perfect all weekend. Taking the pole position on the Blower/Turbo side was Eric Latino all the way from Canada in his beautiful G-Force built 1968 Camaro with a blistering 5.89 ET at 245.32 MPH. This is the first race for Eric this year with the series, and the team made a statement right away.

On the Nitrous side, Matt Deitsch qualified number one with a 6.03 at 234.29 in his 68’ Camaro.

In the Nitrous eliminations side number 3 qualifier Ed Burnley ran thru the field to the finals with consistency and performance running between 6.10-6.12 in all four rounds of eliminations, defeating  R.Tyree  in round one, 6.12 to a losing 7.27, E. Donavan in round two 6.11 to a losing 32.00, Nick Montana in round three 6.10 to a 8.08.

Todd Fontana also ran thru the field to the finals with consistency and performance, qualifying number 4, defeating  Andrew Handras  in round one, 6.20, Handras broke on starting line, Jeff Rogers  in round two 6.19 to a losing 7.98, Matt Deitsch round three 6.19 to a red light by Matt.

Snap-On’s “Superchargers Showdown” coming to Maryland International Raceway.

Mechanicsville, MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA) is ready for one of the largest quarter mile Pro Mod events ever at Maryland International Raceway on Oct. 21-22, 2011 qualifying two 16 cars fields, featuring a 16 car Nitrous Field and a 16 car Blower/Turbo Field.

“We are ready to make NEOPMA history at this year’s Superchargers Showdown by qualifying 32 wild Pro Mods. This is one of only a few races in the entire nation where you can see a 32 car field on the full quarter mile. With awesome track and atmospheric conditions in late October and a 32 car Pro Mod field it will truly be an extraordinary weekend!” states Royce Miller of MIR.

NEOPMA to show in force for 9th Annual Shakedown at E’Town

Huntington, NY – The 9th Annual Shakedown at E’Town is upon us once again. In 2010 we witnessed NEOPMA member Larry Plummer in the Pullen Motorsports 68’ Firebird runner up in the Blown/Turbo class. There were 5.90’s passes from members like Pete Farber, Tim O’Hare, and Fredy Scriba.

The field was fast, but 2011 is shaping up to be even faster with members capable of potential 5.80’s passes on a track with historic performances and October weather that creates conditions for maximum horsepower and performance. For the NEOPMA teams this race will be a point’s race, so with a tight point’s battle, expect to see teams throw everything they got at the track.
