STOW, OH – Mickey Thompson-sponsored Team M/T member Bill Glidden is now preparing his nitrous powered, championship Mustang for the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series.

“We’re very happy to continue working closely with the folks at Mickey Thompson,” stated Glidden. “We’ve had a long-standing relationship with them and appreciate the opportunity to make a contribution to product development. I can’t wait to see what this Mustang can do on the tires we’ve developed for Pro Mod.”

Glidden will compete with the ET Drag 34.0/13.5-16W, part number 3190W, developed through the Big Tire Development Program, a collaborative effort between Glidden and the Mickey Thompson research and development team.

STOW, OH – NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Sportsman Racer, Dan Fletcher, is the only Sportsman racer to sweep the “Western Swing,” having won all three races in 1994, and again this season at the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Northwest Nationals on August 4.

Fletcher earned his second Swing sweep for wins 84 and 85 making him the 17th driver to accomplish the double-win feat, and earning the 28th double in NHRA history. Fletcher’s double is also especially remarkable because the 85th victory ties him with NHRA legend Bob Glidden, another Mickey Thompson competitor, for fourth place on the all-time NHRA wins list.

The goal is to exceed the existing internal combustion wheel-driven land speed record of 417.020 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

STOW, OH – The Mickey Thompson-sponsored “Wally”-winning Luke Bogacki has earned his sixth NHRA national event win in the Super Comp class on Mickey Thompson tires with a 8.934-second time at 155.70 miles per hour. A long-time Team M/T Member, Bogacki rocked the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Norwalk July 6-7 to take the lead in the Super Comp class by more than 100 points following a five-week stretch of victory.

Bogacki competes with Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires, part #3186, size 34.5/17.0-16. He is also known to use the popular ET Drag tires, part #3183, size 33.5/16.5-16, depending upon the event and the racing conditions.

KERRVILLE, TX – The Top Sportsman class in the X-treme Drag Racing League (X-DRL) will have outstanding backing as the new 1/8-mile sanctioning body prepares for its inaugural season.

The X-DRL officially announced on Thursday that Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels will be the official sponsor for the Top Sportsman class for the 2013 X-DRL season, which begins on April 6-7 with the X-DRL Spring Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park.

The class will officially be called Mickey Thompson Tires Top Sportsman, as one of the industry leaders in tires and wheels forms a new and growing partnership with the X-DRL.
