LANCASTER ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR RACING SURFACE REPAIRS

Repaving part of first phase of capital improvement plan

Lancaster, NY – The asphalt racing surface of the Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway will be receiving some Lancaster Repaving Planmuch needed TLC this coming week as plans to repair large sections of the track have been finalized.

The repaving and repairs are a key component of the first phase of Lancaster’s three-year capital improvement plan. Construction work has been happening around the facility for most of the month of April, and additional projects have been scheduled for the following two years.

“When we took a look at what areas of the facility that needed immediate attention, the racing surface was near the top of the list,” said General Manager Melissa McGowan, “We need to provide our competitors with a track that will provide them a safe and competitive racing environment that holds its integrity.”

LANCASTER ADDS ADDITIONAL MARKETING PARTNERS FOR 2015 SEASON

Several local and national companies to join growing list of Speedway sponsors

Lancaster, NY – Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway continues to add marketing partners for the upcoming Lancasterracing season as a mix of local and national businesses have pledged support for the 2015 racing season.

Uncle’s Bob Self Storage has signed on to be the title sponsor of the Quick 16 class for the Franco’s Pizza Friday Night IHRA drag racing program. Lancaster has revamped the Quick 16 program for 2015 with seven dates on the schedule and a weekly purse of $3,550. Eligible drivers have the opportunity to win nearly $20,000 in cash and prizes this year. Uncle Bob’s Self Storage is a fully integrated, self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) that acquires and manages self-storage properties. The company is headquartered in Buffalo and it owns and/or operates approximately 500 self-storage facilities encompassing over 30 million square feet across 25 states, making it one of the largest self-storage companies in the United States.

LANCASTER’S “COMMUNITY CLEAN UP” DAY A HUGE SUCCESS 

VOLUNTEERS LEND HELP WITH PAINTING AND SPRUCING UP OF FACILITY

LANCASTER, NY – The Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway held a “Community Clean Up” Day on Saturday, LNS Clean up GroupApril 18 to help get the speedway grounds ready for the 2015 racing season. The event drew an impressive turnout of over 60 volunteers that painted, removed overgrown shrubs and picked up debris while enjoying a gorgeous Saturday afternoon.

The painting crews tackled several areas of the speedway, including the bathrooms, maintenance storage building, the entire frontstretch wall, the blast wall behind the burnout box and the area around the starting line of the drag strip. Grounds crew volunteers removed overgrown plants and weeds from the fence along the pit entrance road and the fence behind the grandstands. A third team of volunteers picked up garbage and cleared debris from the back of stock car pits and behind the banking of turns 3 & 4. Volunteers were treated to lunch from Franco’s Pizza.

LANCASTER ANNOUNCES NEW OPENING DATE AND UNVEILS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY

Lancaster, NY – The new management of the Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has unveiled a multiyear Lancaster Repairscapital improvement plan as part of its commitment to revitalize the historic racing facility and announced a new opening date due to improvement delays resulting from the harsh winter.

Construction crews began work at the speedway this week with the first phase of that plan.

Headlining the first year of capital improvements is a long overdue face lift of the frontstretch grandstands. Anyone interested in obtaining one of the old boards as a souvenir, or for any other purpose, can pick them up at the speedway during normal business hours.

LANCASTER EXPANDS MARKETING PARTNERSHIP WITH FRANCO’S PIZZA

WNY PIZZA CHAIN TO SPONSOR FRIDAY NIGHT DRAG PROGRAM

Lancaster, NY – Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has secured an agreement with Franco’s Pizza for the local Lancasterbusiness to become the title sponsor of the Friday night IHRA drag racing program.

This new deal expands Franco’s involvement with Lancaster as the locally-owned chain of pizzerias came on board as a sponsor last season.

Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway renews IHRA sanction

IRG Sports + Entertainment™ and the International Hot Rod Association™ (IHRA) is proud to announce Lancaster IHRA Member TrackNational Speedway & Dragway, an eighth-mile drag strip near Buffalo, N.Y., has renewed its sanction with IHRA.

The multi-purpose facility, constructed in 1959, hosts IHRA-sanctioned events each week on Friday nights.

“We are looking forward to remaining under the IHRA banner,” said Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway General Manager Melissa McGowan. “Their weekly racing program is a great fit for our teams and drivers.”

LANCASTER SIGNS K100 & BAUER RACING AS TITLE SPONSOR OF JUNIOR DRAGSTER RACING SERIES & DRAGWAY GRAND CHAMPION

NEW GRAND CHAMPION PROGRAM TO CROWN TOP OVERALL DRAG RACER

Lancaster, NY – Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has expanded their marketing partnership with K100-50TH-Anniversary-LogoK100 Fuel Treatment of Youngstown, NY and Bauer Racing for the 2015 drag racing season.

K100 and Bauer Racing have agreed in principle to become the title sponsor of Lancaster’s Junior Drag Racing Series. The Junior Dragster program gives children ages 7-18 the chance to learn how to drag race in a safe and competitive environment in specially prepared race cars designed for them. Lancaster has been running the class for over 20 years as part of if its Tuesday night “Test n’ Tune” program.

LANCASTER LAUNCHES NEW QUICK 16 PROGRAM FOR 2015

Lancaster, NY – Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has announced a revamped Quick 16 program for the 2015 Lancasterdrag racing season to renew interest in the exciting class.

The Quick 16 class traditionally pits the 16 fastest cars on the dragway property on a given Friday night in a heads up bracket. The eight quickest Dragsters (center-steer) and eight quickest “Doorslammers” (cars) (left steer) will qualify for each event.

Lancaster will run the Quick 16 class seven times in 2015. They will be a part of the first weekend of weekly IHRA points racing on May 8-9. They will also join the regular Friday night drag racing program on June 12, July 24, August 7, September 4 and September 18 as well as the points finale on Saturday, October 10.
