THREE CAR SCAG RACING TEAM WRAP UP THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS
BRISTOL, TN – The newly formed SCAG Racing team consisting of Top Fuel pilot Justin Ashley in the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top
Fuel dragster, Funny Car Rookie of the Year candidate Daniel Wilkerson in the SCAG Power Equipment Summit Ford Mustang and Dave Richards who is running the full NHRA season for the first time in the Versatran/BlueBird Funny Car, exited the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway in the first round on Sunday.
Entering race day as the No. 2 qualifier off their 3.795 second pass at 322.42 mph from Friday night, Justin Ashely and the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team had a titanic matchup against two-time world champion Brittany Force. Ashley would leave the starting line first but his 3.764 second run at 324.36 mph that ended with an engine explosion at the finish line, wasn’t enough for Force’s 3.733 at 319.42.
“This is racing, things like this are going to happen. This sport is a constant emotional rollercoaster so it’s important to put things in perspective. We lost a close first round matchup against a tough competitor but still accomplished a lot throughout the weekend,” Ashley said. “Mike Green, Tommy DeLago, Dustin Davis and the team always give us a good racecar but we just happened to run into a parts failure early on Sunday. I’m grateful for everybody at SCAG Power Equipment, all the dealers and distributors that were with us this weekend, Toyota, Phillips, Lucas Oil, Mac Tools and KATO, and Impact. We’ll get back to work and be ready for Richmond.” Continue reading
JUSTIN ASHLEY LOOKING FOR THREE-PEAT AT NHRA THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS
BRISTOL, TN – Points leaders Justin Ashley and the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team enter this weekend’s Super
Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals with nothing but fond memories of Bristol Dragway.
Last year, Ashley swept the weekend by winning the rain postponed Epping, N.H. New England Nationals, the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge bonus race and the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. While the opportunity to top that kind of a weekend isn’t on the table this year, Ashley is looking for his third consecutive victory at the one-of-a-kind facility.
“It’s one of the more challenging places but rewarding places we race,” Ashley said. “Our team’s experience tuning and navigating this track has played a big part in our success. Last year in Bristol was a weekend I’ll never forget and every time I go to Bristol from now on, it’s going to be something I think about. I am very grateful for that. But at the same time, this is a new year and everything that happened before is in the past. If we want to continue turning on win lights our focus needs on the here and now. It’s going to be a packed house and we want to give the fans a show they deserve. Our team will be ready.” Continue reading

EPPING, NH – Daniel Wilkerson and the SCAG Power Equipment Ford Mustang Funny Car team made their third consecutive semifinal
appearance Sunday at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway.

JUSTIN ASHLEY LOOKING FOR REPEAT VICTORY AT NHRA NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS
EPPING, NH – Justin Ashley and the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel team enter this weekend’s NHRA New England Nationals at
New England Dragway as the defending event winners, thought they didn’t get the win at the facility.
The 2023 New England Nationals were a bit of an anomaly. While the race began at New England Dragway, continuous rain forced the event to be postponed to the following race weekend in Bristol, Tennessee opening up the opportunity for Ashley to pick up three wins in one weekend.
Ashley would leave New England Dragway in the No. 10 qualifying position. In Bristol, while qualifying for the Thunder Valley Nationals, Ashely would defeat Dan Mercier, two-time champion Brittany Force, multi-time champion Steve Torrence and winningest Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher to win the New England Nationals while also winning the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge. On Sunday, Ashley would cap off the weekend by winning the Thunder Valley Nationals. Continue reading

JOLIET, IL – Justin Ashley and the SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team rallied to their second Mission Foods
#2Fast2Tasty Challenge of the year Saturday while qualifying for the Gerber Glass & Collision Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway.
Ashley would get his eighth overall #2Fast2Fasty Challenge win with a clean 3.831-second pass at 320.05 mph to defeat Clay Millican and his 6.120 at 10.222 after smoking the tires.
“We’ve been fortunate to have a lot success in the Challenge. It feels great but it’s tough to pinpoint one thing that we did to make this happen today,” Ashley said. “The only thing I’ll say is I think it’s good because it helps us to get into raceday mode. In these races, I’m not necessarily trying to race the other person, just trying to make the best run I can make. As a team, we keep chipping away at it. We struggled a bit at the start of the year, but the guys worked hard and they were able to turn this thing around. So whether it’s qualifying, the Mission Foods Challenge or race day, we want to win each and every round, so this was a fun one today. Continue reading

JOLIET, IL – Justin Ashley and his SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team are hoping to keep their final round streak alive
as they head into this weekend’s Gerber Glass & Collision Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway.

Ashley would earn runner-up points for his final quad appearance at the Las Vegas Four-Wide event and most recently, Ashley picked up a win at the second Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway just outside of Charlotte. Their efforts through the first five events of the year have SCAG Racing sitting at the top of the Top Fuel points standings.
“It’s always a great feeling to come into a race with the points lead. We’ve had a good season so far, Mike Green, Tommy DeLago, Dustin Davis, and the team have worked really hard to get the car to the point where it is now. But that’s all in the past and we are focused on the present,” Ashley said. “The second quarter of the season begins this weekend and we want to start it off on the right foot. Every team is incredibly talented and capable of winning on any given Sunday. Continue reading
