JOSH HART RACES TO RUNNER-UP FINISH AT PRO SUPERSTAR SHOOTOUT

BRADENTON, FL – Josh Hart entered the 2nd annual SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout looking to build momentum for a 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel championship chase. After three days of testing and three days of racing the team owner of the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster is encouraged by what his team accomplished even though they came up just short of a victory against Shawn Reed.

“I can’t really put it into words. The team did 14 or 15 passes, and that’s more than I’ve ever done in my career in one session,” said Hart. “The fact that nobody complained, and everybody kept working. We were up at seven, we were going to bed at midnight, and essentially, we never really got a break to get much sleep. It was constant. To see the car go from a 3.79 to a 3.75 to 3.74, 3.73, 3.72, we’re right there. We knew when it got cool out, we needed to bring it. And we’re working on that, that’s what I’m trying to tell everybody. We’re very, very happy with where we’re at.”

In the first round Hart dispatched NASCAR Hall of Famer turned drag racer Tony Stewart. Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner was first off the line with a .061 reaction time and he never trailed in the race. His winning elapsed time of 3.726 seconds was quickest of the session and gave him lane choice over Justin Ashley in the semifinals. Continue reading

Hart is focused on getting the season off to a fast start and over the off-season he bolstered his team with the addition of Jason McCulloch as co-crew chief. JOSH HART RACING ADDS SNAP-ON FOR 2025 NHRA SEASON

OCALA, FL – NHRA Top Fuel championship contender Josh Hart announced during the 2024 PRI Show in Indianapolis that his R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will chase the championship with the official support of Snap-On Tools. The iconic brand will join R+L Carriers, TechNet and Burnyzz Speed Shops as an official sponsor of the Top Fuel team. Hart has had an associate sponsor relationship with Snap-On throughout his career but in 2025 Snap-On will be more prominently featured on his 12,000 horsepower R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster and additional team assets. Snap-On tools will also play a prominent role in the national growth of Burnyzz Speed Shops across the country.

“I have loved using Snap-On Tools at the track and at Burnyzz Speed Shop,” said Hart, a multi-time NHRA Top Fuel National event winner. “A couple years ago Cruz Pedregon and I did an event at Indy for Snap-On distributors and customers and it was a blast. Their tools are top of the line and we are looking forward to using them to get more wins in 2025.”

In 2023 during an event surrounding the Indy 500, Hart and Pedregon fired up their 12,000-horsepower land rockets while the Snap-on guests got an up close and personal experience. They each executed long and smoky burnouts before taking the Christmas Tree with Pedregon getting a slight competition advantage off the starting line to even out the elapsed times. Hart has continued the relationship with Snap-On and is looking forward to adding more wins in 2025. Continue reading

Jason McCulloch Joins Josh Hart Racing in Pursuit of Championship

OCALA, FL – The team announced today the addition of Jason McCulloch as co-crew chief joining veteran crew chief Ron Douglas moving into the 2025 NHRA season. McCulloch will be in the Brownsburg, Indiana-area shop starting immediately to work with Douglas on a plan of attack for the 2025 season.

“We have stretched Ron too thin; he’s been asking for help and now we have been able to secure it. We were just outnumbered for a good portion of the season. You look at the teams that are at the top of the standing and they had two top-tier crew chiefs all year,” said Hart. “Jason brings championship experience and a wealth of Top Fuel knowledge to this team. I think he and Ron can be a great combination to get this R+L Carriers Top Fuel team back on track. This whole year we were behind everyone on the performance curve, and I don’t want to do that for another season.”

The team finished its third full season on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing series in 12th place after finishing 10th in 2023 and 7th in 2022. Hart has raced to five final rounds with two wins in his career, including the 2021 Gatornationals in his professional debut. The team won the prestigious Pep Boys All-Star Callout to start the 2023 season. Continue reading

JOSH HART ENDS 2024 WITH EARLY EXIT IN POMONA

POMONA, CA – Throughout the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team kept looking towards the next race for performance improvement. After twenty national events Hart will end the season without a victory but undaunted in his plans to win a Top Fuel world championship. The team will have to wait for the 2025 NHRA season, but throughout the In-N-Out NHRA Finals this weekend Hart kept the pressure on, making the most of the three qualifying sessions and giving one the championship contenders a tough first round race.

On Friday Hart was one of the handful of Top Fuel drivers to get a qualifying run in before rain moved over In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip. The R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster posted a 3.806 second run at 322.19 mph to end the truncated session as the No. 5 Top Fuel dragster. On Saturday Hart steadily improved, running 3.756 seconds and then a season best 3.729 seconds in the closing session. Hart went into race day as the No. 13 qualifier in a tight group of 16 Top Fuel dragsters.

“I was glad to see our times getting quicker over the weekend,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “The track and conditions were some of the best we have seen this season. We tried to throw everything at it. I know we can’t win the championship this season, but we can get some data for the next two races in Pomona and maybe have an impact on who wins the championship.” Continue reading

Josh Hart Eyes Pomona as Chance to Build Off-Season Momentum

OCALA, FL – The 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will wrap up this weekend at the IN-N-Out NHRA Finals in Pomona,

November 15-17 and Josh Hart will be looking to end the season on a high note. The team owner and driver of the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team, based in Ocala, Florida, is eager to start building momentum for a championship chase in 2025. This season Hart has not seen the results he is used to but the ever-optimistic entrepreneur is not going to miss one last chance to secure a victory in 2024.

“This season has not gone the way I would have hoped but every day you get to drag race professionally is a gift,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “This R+L Carriers team has never given up and we are heading into Pomona looking to end the season with a win.”

Hart’s team, which also receives support from his primary business Burnyzz Speed Shop, has gone rounds this season and raced to several semifinals but in one of the toughest Top Fuel fields in recent memory they have not been able to break through. The R+L Carriers team has continued to look for progress on the track and they have showed flashes of improved performance throughout the season but consistency has eluded the team. Continue reading

Josh Hart Leaves Las Vegas with Focus on Pomona

LAS VEGAS – At the conclusion of the penultimate NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals, Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will have one more chance to end their season on a high note. This weekend at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Hart’s team never got a strong handle on the tricky track conditions at the track located fifteen minutes from downtown Las Vegas. Through four rounds of qualifying Hart struggled to transfer the power generated by his R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster to the all-concrete track. His best effort was a 3.801 second pass during the first qualifying session on Saturday held up to secure him the 16th spot in a tight Top Fuel field.

“There were 19 Top Fuel dragsters on the property, so we knew it was going to be super competitive,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “We just never got over the hump.”

On race day Hart was paired with No. 1 qualifier Brittany Force in the first round. The R+L Carriers team knew they had a tough opponent, but they were up to the task. Hart grabbed a slight starting line advantage with a .056 second reaction time but by half-track Force was pulling away with a solid 3.721 second smooth pass. Continue reading

Hart Looking to Build on Ford Performance Nationals Success

OCALA, FL – Last season at the penultimate NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series national event of the season Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers team made an impact on the Top Fuel championship racing to the semifinals. This season the fourth year Top Fuel team owner and driver from Ocala, Florida, is looking to continue to have a say in how the NHRA season wraps up for his team as well as the other Countdown contending drivers. The Ford Performance NHRA Nationals will get underway October 31-November 3, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Hart is looking to close out a tough season with success in the desert.

“To say this season didn’t go our way is an understatement but we have two more races left on the schedule,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “We are not just going through the motions to finish the season. There are two races left and our goal is to win both and maybe have say again in who wins the Top Fuel championship.”

In 2023 Hart was the No. 12 qualifier and upset championship contending driver Leah Pruett from Tony Stewart Racing in the first round with a hole shot win. In the second round he did the same thing to the eventual world champion Doug Kalitta. The championship fell Kalitta’s way by less than a round of racing two weeks later in Pomona. In the semifinals he was first off the line against the eventual Ford Performance Nationals winner Mike Salinas, but Salinas had the quicker race car. Continue reading

TEXAS FALL NATIONALS END EARLY FOR JOSH HART

DALLAS – Josh Hart’s bid to move up the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel points standings fell short today at the 39th annual NHRA Texas Fall Nationals. Hart, who qualified No. 11, dropped his first round match-up with Texan Billy Torrence at Texas Motorplex. Hart rolled off the trailer on Friday and posted the fourth quickest run of the first round of qualifying with a 3.776 second pass at 327.99 mph. Over the next three rounds of qualifying Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team battled in tough and hot track conditions.

“I felt good with our first run on Friday and then we just missed it during the Friday night session,” said Hart, a two-time Top Fuel national event winner. “On Saturday we were just trying to play catch up on a hot track. We usually have a good hot track tune-up, but we just couldn’t get a handle on it. We are going to get ready for the last two national events and see what we can do.”

In the first round against Torrence Hart was up for the challenge against the No. 6 qualifier. Hart was first off the starting line with a .061 second reaction time in front of Torrence’s .083 second start. Unfortunately, Hart could not hold the lead as Torrence made a smooth pass down the Motorplex’s all-concrete quarter-mile track while Hart smoked the tires at half-track. Continue reading
