OCALA, FL – Josh Hart has never relied on luck throughout his racing or business career. The fifth year professional Top Fuel driver of the R+L Carriers dragster has been meticulous in his planning and building of his team going back to his rookie season in 2021. The owner of Burnyzz Speed Shop in Ocala, Florida, has used the same mindset that grew that company into a horsepower powerhouse to build his Top Fuel team heading into the Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals, April 11-13 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“You can’t rely on luck getting you win lights,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “You have to work hard and put in the time to get results. Sometimes things will go your way, but out here you have to be at your best, every run. We have been making strides this season that I feel will pay off during this four-wide race.”

Over the off-season Hart added Jason McCulloch and Joe Barlam to his crew chief line-up alongside veteran tuner Ron Douglas. The trio of crew chiefs that Hart refers to as his “Three Musketeers” set about building a sustainable tune-up that could carry the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team to the NHRA Mission Foods world championship. Two weeks ago, at the historic NHRA Winternationals Hart posted some of his quickest elapsed times in over a year and raced to the quarterfinals. POMONA, CA – Three races into the 2025 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season Top Fuel championship contender Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers made a significant move at the 65th NHRA Winternationals. The team qualified No. 6 on the strength of their 3.675 second run on Friday night and moved into race day with lane choice and confidence. On race day Hart powered to the quarterfinals after outrunning Justin Ashley and dropping his quarterfinal race to Top Fuel point leader Shawn Langdon.

In the opening round Hart squared off with Ashley in a battle of two of the best drivers on the starting line. Both 12,000-horsepowered Top Fuel dragsters launched together but Hart’s R+L Carriers race car was on another smooth and exceedingly quick run matching his best elapsed time of qualifying, with a winning 3.675 second run at 322.67 mph. Ashley smoked the tires in the left lane and had to watch as Hart pulled away for the win.

In the quarterfinals Hart faced Langdon and once again it was a toss-up between two great reaction time drivers and strong race cars. Langdon had lane choice with a slight first round elapsed time advantage, 3.668 seconds to Hart’s 3.675 seconds. OCALA, FL – Josh Hart will never shrink from a challenge. The entrepreneur who along with his wife Brittanie built Burnyzz Speed Shop into a car restoration, speed shop and horsepower powerhouse is looking at the upcoming Winternationals, the third race of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series as another opportunity for success. The first two races of the season have been impacted by rain in Florida and high heat in Arizona. The R+L Carriers Top Fuel team is looking to get to southern California and use the info they have picked up to turn on win lights and move up in the early season point standings.

“Mother Nature wasn’t very kind to any of the teams in Florida for the Gatornationals and then last weekend in Arizona it was our first hot race of the season. The good news is we tried three different tune-ups and came away with one we think will keep us on track moving forward,” said Hart. “The Winternationals is an amazing event. CHANDLER, AZ – After three days on the track at Firebird Motorsports Park the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team and owner/driver Josh Hart feels like they are moving in the right direction. After four qualifying runs and the first round of the 40th NHRA Arizona Nationals today, Hart has seen flashes of success that should provide direction for the championship contending team. With two national events in the books and the historic NHRA Winternationals on the horizon, Hart is looking to turn on win lights soon.

“We tested three different combinations at this event and we found one that we like for the long season ahead,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “The R+L Carriers team is prepared for the endurance NHRA challenge of 2025 and we feel that we will be a real contender by Vegas.”

Hart and the R+L Carriers team made two consistent runs on the first day of qualifying running 3.817 seconds and 3.819 seconds at well over 320 mph. On Saturday when the conditions headed up the crew made some adjustments in preparations for race day and a first round match up with reigning Top Fuel champion Antron Brown. OCALA, FL – Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will be back on track for the 40th Arizona NHRA Nationals this weekend at Firebird Motorsports Park outside of Phoenix looking to build momentum for their 2025 championship run. Two weeks ago, at the season opener in Gainesville, Florida, rain plagued the event, cutting the qualifying opportunities in half and creating tough racing conditions for all the teams on race day. Hart and the R+L Carriers team are looking forward to four qualifying runs and a solid race day effort.

“I feel like Gainesville was a tough situation because we were dealt bad hand with the weather,” said Hart. “That first round was a good luck type of deal. No one really knew what to expect and you were just hoping to go down the track. I am happy we came home OK and had no major parts damaged.”

Hart’s history at Firebird Motorsports Park has been a mixed bag of success and frustration. In 2022, at his first start in the desert he qualified No. 8 and raced to a semifinal finish. The next two appearances saw his team make some solid runs in qualifying but never advance to the quarterfinals. GAINESVILLE, FL – The start of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series got off to a wet and frustrating start for 2021 Gatornationals winner Josh Hart, driver of the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster. Hart, who made several off-season additions in pursuit of his first Top Fuel world championship, had high hopes coming into Gainesville Raceway. A month ago, Hart was the Top Fuel runner-up at the SCAG Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout in Bradenton, Florida. This weekend all the professional teams lost half of the scheduled qualifying sessions and headed into race day with only two runs from Friday. Hart was able to secure the No. 9 qualifier position on the strength of his first run, a solid 3.755 second pass at 324.90 mph.

“I was happy with that first run and on Friday night we got aggressive,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “I was hoping to get some more runs on Saturday, but Mother Nature had other ideas. We knew Sunday would be a tricky day for racing.”

In the first round facing veteran No. 8 qualifier Clay Millican and his Rick Ware Racing-backed Top Fuel dragster Hart was half of the first pair of 12,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragsters to hit the track. Hart was first off the line but almost immediately both dragsters smoked the tires. Hart’s R+L Carriers race car shut off as Millican was able to power down the track getting on and off the throttle for the win. OCALA, FL – Top Fuel team owner and driver Josh Hart has always kept a positive attitude even when times were tough. The fifth-year pro will be campaigning the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster at this weekend’s historic NHRA Gatornationals and for the businessman from Ocala, Florida, the pursuit of his first Top Fuel world championship is another goal in a long list of successes. Nearly two decades ago, with only $300 he started a mobile car detailing business with his wife Brittanie, and they built that business into multiple successful business ventures. He won his first professional Top Fuel NHRA national event at the 2021 NHRA Gatornationals and he won the first big money Top Fuel specialty race he ever competed in, the 2023 Pep Boys All-Star Top Fuel Callout. He is once again focusing his “Anything’s Possible” mantra on the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and the run for the world championship.

“I am very focused and excited to get this season started,” said Hart, a multi-time national event winner. “We made some changes over the offseason that have already started to pay off. We added Jason McCulloch to the team to work with crew chief Ron Douglas and we have some new crew guys. OCALA, FL – Always looking for more opportunities to promote Burnyzz Speed Shop and feed his competitive nature Top Fuel team owner and driver Josh Hart will campaign a Burnyzz Speed Shop branded Dodge Challenger for the entire 2025 Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series along with his R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster in the Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series. Hart will be teaming up with the current Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown Series team owner and competitor David H. Davies, owner of DHDR.

“I have had a Factory Stock Dodge Challenger since the series was announced,” said Hart. “These race cars are practically pieces of art, and I didn’t want to cut mine up to race it. David told me we could get set up and keep it beautiful and I jumped at the chance. This is the perfect class to also promote Burnyzz Speed Shop, so you are going to see more promotion on that front as well. It’s been a while since I shifted going down the track, but I have some experience from early in my racing career.”

Hart’s Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown entry will sport the unique flame design that has been a part of the Burnyzz Speed Shop logo from day one.
