IMPROVED PERFORMANCE LEADS TO ANOTHER QUARTERFINAL FINISH FOR JOSH HART IN SONOMA
SONOMA, CA – The R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster team led by Josh Hart continues to improve with quicker performance numbers. Today at
the Denso Sonoma Nationals Hart raced to another quarterfinal finish keeping a firm hold on his Top Ten position in the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series point standings. Through two days of qualifying leading up to race day Hart’s R+L Carriers Top Fuel team methodically improved posting quicker elapsed time runs and eventually heading into race day as the No. 6 qualified Top Fuel dragster at Sonoma Raceway. His efforts set up another first round match-up with Tony Stewart.
Succeeding a tough first round outing in Seattle with Stewart getting the victory Hart reflected on his race weekend. Following a conversation with his wife Brittanie the multi-time winner came into Sonoma with a new attitude.
“After Seattle my wife said, ‘If it’s not fun and you’re not going to focus you should park it and come home,’ said Hart. “Like usual she was right so thanks to her and all the amazing fans at Sonoma Raceway. I can say it was a fun weekend and I was able to focus heading into the first round.” Continue reading
JOSH HART LOOKING TO SONOMA SUCCESS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP MOMENTUM
OCALA, FL – Building on the positive performance of the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team last weekend in Seattle Josh Hart is looking for more
success at Sonoma Raceway this weekend. The team’s annual race in northern California has reaped positive results in the past and Hart is looking to close out the regular season with momentum headed into the Countdown for the championship. Including the Sonoma Nationals which start Friday, July 25 and conclude on Sunday, July 27, there are three races left before the playoffs begin and Hart is solidly in the Top Ten with championship aspirations.
“We are looking at these last three races of the regular season as our opportunity to put our team in championship contention,” said Hart. “The regular season championship is out of reach but the world championship is within our grasp for the six-race Countdown. We just need to take all the positive things we have been doing all season and focus on Sonoma, Brainerd and Indy so we can roll into the Countdown on a good run.”
Hart’s season has shown consistency in the first round of eliminations, but they haven’t been able to stack round wins on race day. The R+L Carriers Top Fuel team is amongst the best teams regarding first round win percentage but tough second round opponents and bad racer luck have derailed the multi-time national event winning team. Heading into Seattle Hart had advanced to the quarterfinals in six of the previous eight races. Continue reading
Hart Ramps Up Performance at Northwest Nationals
SEATTLE – After three days of exciting qualifying and racing action Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will leave historic Pacific
Raceways solidly in the top ten in points and with a consistently improving race car. Hart’s R+L Carriers Top Fuel team made five runs over the course of the weekend at the track located just south of Seattle, improving with every run. At the conclusion of qualifying Hart was sitting in the No. 8 qualifying position with a respectable 3.812 second, 327.43 mph pass in the fourth session.
“Like a lot of teams, we got behind the eightball on Friday during the night session,” said Hart. “On Saturday we had good conditions, but we had to work our way up to a quick run throughout the day. Having the three runs on Saturday made it manageable. I like having the three runs that more closely mimic race day conditions.”
Heading into the opening round, Hart was squaring off with the points leader Tony Stewart. Both teams had excellent first round win records so Hart and his R+L Carriers team knew they would need to be at the top of their game. Unfortunately, Hart made an out of character mistake missing the Christmas tree and giving Stewart a starting line advantage. Hart’s best run of the weekend, a 3.746 second, 331.12 mph pass came up just short at the finish line. Continue reading
Josh Hart and R+L Carriers Ready to Tackle the Western Swing
Ocala, FL – The second half of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series starts this weekend at the historic Pacific Raceways, home
of some of the most notable drag races over the past fifty years. For Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team making the trek to the Pacific Northwest is about making their own history and advancing the success of their independently owned team. Hart, a successful entrepreneur who owns Burnyzz Speed Shop with his wife Brittanie is looking to establish his brand of business and racing with his Top Fuel team across the country. This weekend’s Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals and next week’s Sonoma Nationals in northern California are the furthest west the operation has a chance to make an impact.
“When we come to Pacific Raceway, we travel over 2,000 miles from the shop in Indy and barely over 3,000 miles from Burnyzz in Ocala,” said Hart. “This is a huge commitment, and we want to make the most of this two-week trip. Both tracks have a lot of history, but Seattle is an amazing facility. The track is surrounded by trees, and you can make quick runs especially with the Friday night, late night session. That run really sets up your whole weekend.”
Fans will be treated to a Friday night qualifying session that will include a race for the Deecell Power Systems “After Dark Low Qualifier” bonus. The bonus money will go to the low qualifiers with the low qualifier in Top Fuel and Funny Car earning $4,000 each. More tracks are spicing up their Friday night qualifying with special bonuses or trophies and Hart thinks these added incentives are a plus for the fans and the teams. Continue reading

HOT WEEKEND IN VIRGINIA DOESN’T MELT JOSH HART’S FOCUS
PETERSBURG, VA – Hot temperatures returned to the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series during this weekend’s American Rebel Light
Virginia NHRA Nationals. For Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team that also receives support from TechNet and David H. Davies Racing (DHDR) the weekend was two days of tricky track conditions and the pursuit of a hot weather tune-up. Saturday, the lone day of qualifying, featured three opportunities for Hart and his team to move as high as possible in the qualifying order.
In the opening qualifying session on a very green racetrack Hart made his first pass in the right lane that gave every team fits throughout the session. For the rest of the afternoon Hart’s team was working feverishly to map out a tune-up that would translate the 12,000-horsepower to a slippery hot track. At the end of the day Hart was sitting at No. 13 and facing a first round race with four-time Top Fuel world champion and No. 3 qualifier Steve Torrence.
“We were behind the eight ball all day on Saturday like a lot of teams,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “Every run after the first qualifying session we got quicker. I knew we could step it up in the first round. It was just a matter of how much quicker we could get and what Torrence rolled out against us.” Continue reading
Josh Hart Looking to Capitalize on Virginia Nationals Success
OCALA, FL – Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster team will return to Virginia Motorsports Park this weekend looking to capture
their first Top Fuel win of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. This will be the multi-time Top Fuel national event winner’s third attempt at victory at the American Rebel Light Virginia Nationals. Hart has advanced to the quarterfinals in his previous two appearances at the track located just outside of Richmond, Virginia.
“I was excited to see the Virginia race come back on the NHRA schedule a few years ago,” said Hart. “The track is a great racing surface and the fans in that part of the country love NHRA drag racing. We have run well there and this weekend we are looking forward to winning more rounds with the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team. It will be the first weekend of back-to-back races and we are looking forward to building some momentum going into the summer.”
The American Rebel Light Virginia Nationals is the only two-day race on the NHRA schedule. Fans will be treated to three professional qualifying sessions on Saturday and then the quickest 16 Top Fuel dragsters will battle it out in eliminations on Sunday. The unique format creates an intense atmosphere for the teams as they qualify in race day conditions with quick turnaround times in the pits. The fans get an almost race day level of excitement with the drivers still in a more relaxed state of mind. Continue reading
JOSH HART RACES TO QUARTERFINALS IN BRISTOL
BRISTOL, TN – Josh Hart and the TechNet/R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster rolled into Bristol Dragway looking to get their momentum back
for a race to their first NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series world championship. An early exit last weekend at the New England Nationals was dismissed as an aberration for the multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. The TechNet Top Fuel team rolled off the trailer on Friday at the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals and posted the second quickest elapsed time of the session grabbing two qualifying bonus points and a strong start to the eighth event of the season. The second qualifying session was rained out on Friday and Hart made the most of the two sessions on Saturday sliding into eliminations as the No. 6 Top Fuel dragster with lane choice over Doug Kalitta.
“We made a good run in the first round but we lost lane choice,” said Hart. “Every Top Fuel team struggled in that right lane so we knew we would have our hands full with Langdon. We put a plan together and it almost made it past the tough section but then the tires broke loose.” Continue reading
