Josh Hart Looks to St Louis to Launch Championship Momentum
OCALA, FL – Heading into the NAPA Midwest NHRA Nationals at World Wide Technology Raceway Top Fuel Countdown contender Josh
Hart will be looking to make positive strides towards his first Top Fuel world championship. With four playoff races remaining Hart, who currently sits tenth, will need to go rounds on Sunday, a feat the driver and team owner from Ocala, Florida, accomplished in 2022 when he raced to a runner-up finish. He will be piloting the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster into competition with support from Burnyzz Speed Shop and David H Davies Racing (DHDR).
“We have had some success in St. Louis, but we need to get back on track this Countdown,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “The first two Countdown races haven’t gone our way. We have seen some other teams make big jumps in the points with race wins and we are looking to take advantage of that opportunity this weekend.”
This season Hart has continued to dominate behind the steering wheel holding one of the quickest and most consistent reaction times in the Top Fuel category. Last weekend at the Carolina 4-Wide NHRA Nationals he was first off the line in the opening round versus world champion drivers Doug Kalitta and Antron Brown, recording a stellar .038 second reaction time, second quickest of the first session. Josh Hart Exceptional Driving Effort Comes up Short in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC – Josh Hart was focused on doing everything in his power to keep the Brakes for Breasts TechNet Top Fuel dragster in
championship contention today at zMax Dragway. Racing in the first four-wide national event in the Countdown playoff Hart entered race day as the No. 10 qualifier following two days of tough qualifying. His 12,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragster made its quickest run of qualifying in the final session running 3.824 seconds at 329.83 mph.
“We knew we would have a tough race in the first round racing against Antron (Brown) and Doug (Kalitta),” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “I was ready to go and I think it showed in my reaction time. You have to be at the top of your game in these last races of the season. This is the playoffs.”
In the first round Hart and the Brakes for Breasts pink Top Fuel dragster were lined up in lane one with Doug Kalitta and Antron Brown in two lanes to his right. The Christmas Tree fired, and Hart was first off the line and he made a smooth run that was his quickest pass of the weekend, a 3.820 second pass at over 330 mph. Unfortunately, Kalitta and Brown made slightly quicker passes, and he was unable to hold off Brown who got to the finish line just behind Kalitta to wrap up the two spots to advance to the second quad. HART STARTS COUNTDOWN WITH TOUGH READING OUTING
READING, PA – There are five races remaining in the 2025 NHRA Countdown to the Championship and Top Fuel world championship
contender Josh Hart will need to build momentum exiting the 40th NHRA Reading Nationals. With two more races over the next two weeks, Hart and the R+L Carriers team will immediately shift their focus to closing the gap with his Countdown competitors. Through two days of qualifying at Maple Grove Raceway Hart made three runs in the low 3.80s and entered race day as the No. 10 qualifier. He was evenly matched up with his opponent in the first round and knew that he needed to step up his performance if he was going to advance to the quarterfinals for the eighth time this season.
“We came off the trailer with a quick run on Friday in the first round,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “We stepped up in the second qualifying session which was good. On Saturday we were all battling a tough track and after the final session I felt good coming into race day. I knew I had a good crew behind me, and we were going to give it our best.”
In the opening round after several oil down delays Hart faced off against fellow Countdown opponent and businessman Steve Torrence. Both 12,000-horsepowered Top Fuel dragsters rolled into the starting beams and then launched off the starting line. Torrence took a brief early lead, but Hart was chasing him down and simply ran out of track before Torrence got to the finish line first. Hart’s losing elapsed time of 3.804 seconds was paired with a powerful 335.07 mph speed and was his quickest run of the weekend. Continue reading
Josh Hart Looking to Reverse Fortunes at Reading Nationals
OCALA, FL – Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will start their chase for their first Mission Foods Top Fuel world championship
this weekend at the NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish Ultimate Gear. Hart will be racing at Maple Grove Raceway for the fifth time in his Top Fuel career and the entrepreneur from Ocala, Florida will be looking to reverse a tough record at the historically quick and fast racetrack nestled in the rolling hills of eastern Pennsylvania. Hart enters the Countdown as the No. 8 driver just 93 points out of first place.
“We need to get off to a strong start in the Countdown and start moving around people from the very first race,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “This is a six-race sprint, and we can’t afford to stumble coming out of the blocks. I have a great crew and when you look at the reaction time averages, I am close to the very top.”
Hart is essentially in a tie for second place for best reaction times with two other Countdown contenders, Antron Brown and Shawn Langdon. The ability to get off the starting line first is something that has become critical in Top Fuel racing as the elapsed time differences have become razor thin. Continue reading
Top Fuel Racing Operation Available as Josh Hart Evaluates Racing Future Beyond 2025
OCALA, FL – Josh Hart, Top Fuel team owner, is confirming rumors he will be looking for potential buyers for his Top Fuel racing operation

I am looking at all my options and one of them is seeing who might be interested in my Top Fuel racing operation,” said Hart. “I am blessed to be able to chase my dream of winning a Top Fuel world championship and this season has opened my eyes to what is important. Josh Hart’s Third U.S. Nationals Title will have to Wait
INDIANAPOLIS – As a two-time NHRA U.S. Nationals winner Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team will have to wait another year
to add a third title from the most prestigious drag race in the world. After a solid qualifying effort at the NHRA U.S. Nationals that set the team up as the No. 8 qualifier they were ousted in the first round by No. 9 qualifier Tripp Tatum. Through three days of qualifying the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team posted some of the quickest runs in the category earning four qualifying bonus points for making the quickest run of the second qualifying session. Their final run on Saturday night was an impressive 3.809 seconds at 330.31 mph pass that gave the team confidence heading into the opening round.
Facing Tatum, who was returning to racing action after a lengthy hiatus, Hart had lane choice and momentum on his side. The R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster rolled to the starting line looking to start adding win lights to Hart’s U.S. Nationals history. In 2018 and 2019 Hart won the event in the competitive Top Alcohol Dragster class before stepping to Top Fuel for the 2021 season. Continue reading

OCALA, FL – The biggest race of the year brings out the best in every championship contending team. For two-time U.S. Nationals winner
Josh Hart, he will be looking to add a third and possibly fourth U.S. Nationals win in two additional categories. Hart captured two U.S. Nationals wins in Top Alcohol Dragster in 2018 and 2019 and the multi-time Top Fuel national event winner and rookie in the Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown class will be pulling double duty at this weekend’s Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals. The Huntington, Indiana, native is looking forward to building on his drag racing legacy in his home state.
“I’m originally from Indiana, and that was my first national event win on the largest stage in drag racing when I won in Top Alcohol Dragster,” said Hart. “I absolutely think it’s monumental. There’s no bigger race. Obviously, every win is super significant, but Indianapolis and the Top Fuel class are the top. It’s the cream of the crop. It kind of marks you forever with the NHRA.
Throughout the 2025 season Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel team have been building positive momentum. As the regular season concludes at the end of the U.S. Nationals the R+L Carriers team could move from the 8th spot in the points to as high as 6th with a strong performance. Continue reading
JOSH HART STOPPED EARLY IN BRAINERD
BRAINERD, MN – Exiting the Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway Josh Hart and the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster team
will be looking for a fresh start at the famed U.S. Nationals Labor Day weekend. Through two days of qualifying Hart and his Ron Douglas and Jason McCulloch-tuned R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster made four qualifying runs eventually posting a 3.784 second pass at 330.47 mph on Saturday to head into race day as the No. 10 qualifier. For the third race in a row Hart would square off with fellow championship contender Tony Stewart in the opening round.
Two weeks ago, Hart outran Stewart before falling in the second round at Sonoma Raceway. The weekend before that Hart lost a close race in Seattle when Stewart grabbed a starting line advantage and raced to the finish line stripe first. Today Hart was confident he would be able to once again outrun Stewart.
“We made a solid run in the third qualifying session, and we learned some things in the final session,” said Hart, a multi-time Top Fuel national event winner. “The conditions this morning stayed cool, and I felt really good getting into the R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster.” Continue reading
JOSH HART TAKING NEW ATTITUDE TO BRAINERD
OCALA, FL – A couple of weeks off the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series allows drivers and teams to refresh and recharge. Josh Hart
and the R+L Carriers team took advantage of one of the off weeks to keep getting better racing at the iconic Night Under Fire at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The massively popular event run by the Bader family gave Hart a wakeup call on a variety of levels and has the Top Fuel team owner and driver ready to take on the final eight races of the NHRA season starting this weekend at the Lucas Oil Nationals with a positive attitude and new focus.
“The Western Swing was a challenge for me,” said Hart. “After Seattle I was very frustrated and my wife Brittanie set me straight. She said if I wasn’t having fun I should just sell everything and do something else. I went into Sonoma looking for a reason to keep racing and I found it. We made some progress but what really opened my eyes was the Night Under Fire.”
The one-day event built around entertaining tens of thousands of fans with nitro cars, jet dragsters, factory stock cars and alcohol competitors spoke to Hart. As a former Top Alcohol Dragster driver seeing those competitors get the star treatment was impressive. Hart is racing a factory stock Dodge Challenger this season and watching some of his fellow door slammer competitors fire up the crowd was also special. Finally, racing his R+L Carriers Top Fuel dragster and spending time with R+L Carriers employees in a casual and fun environment re-energized the championship contending driver. Continue reading
