JOHN FORCE AND PEAK CHEVY HOPE TO HAVE A LOT TO CELEBRATE AT U.S. NATIONALS

INDIANAPOLIS – John Force and the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet Camaro SS team are looking for a victory at the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, the final event of the Camping World Drag Racing Series regular season, to be just the performance boost they need heading into Countdown to the Championship.

This will be Force’s 43rd career appearance at the US Nationals. He shares with Ed McCulloch the record for most Funny Car victories at the US Nationals with five coming in 1993, 1996, 1998, 2002, and 2019. He has qualified No. 1 at the U.S. Nationals more often than at any other tour event – at total of 12 times (1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2021). Last year at Indianapolis Raceway Park, after qualifying fourth, he reached the semifinals before losing to Ron Capps.

“Busy weekend for the U.S. Nationals, always is, as it should be. Biggest race of the year, biggest drag race in the world. We have to act like it too,” Force said. “There’s a lot of opportunities to celebrate with the Mission Foods Challenge and the Pep Boys Callout. That’s before we even get to race day. This PEAK Chevy, we’ll be looking to get the job done for all our sponsors. A lot of them in town for our sponsor summit earlier in the week. It’s going to be exciting, a great show for the fans. I’m looking forward to it.”

ROBERT HIGHT AND CORNWELL TOOLS READY TO FACE U.S. NATIONALS HEAD-ON

INDIANAPOLIS – Robert Hight and the Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS team have momentum on their side as they head into this weekend’s Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Hight currently is third in Camping World points standings and owes his positioning in part to early season success picking up wins at the Arizona Nationals and Charlotte Four-Wide events. He also has three No.1. qualifiers from the Route 66 Nationals, Thunder Valley Nationals, and Heartland Nationals, the latter was his 80th career No. 1 starting spot. After a runner-up finish at the most recent event at Brainerd International Raceway and a match race victory at Night Under Fire, Hight and the Cornwell Tools team have had a recent surge in performance thanks to the tunings of crew chief Jimmy Prock and co-assistant crew chiefs Thomas Prock and Nate Hildahl.

“When you have a crew chief like Jimmy Prock and a team that has won championships, you just believe in them. And I do, I believe in this whole Cornwell Tools team and I’m doing my part, so I know it’s coming. We’re chasing more wins. I know they’re coming, and they’ll be coming at just the right time. We know it’s going to be a fight, but we have the opportunity this weekend to make up some ground and give ourselves the best position possible going into the Countdown,” Hight said. “We tested Monday in Brainerd to get this Cornwell Tools Chevy where it needs to be for the biggest race of the year and into the Countdown. I’m confident, this team is confident. We’re just ready to get out there.”

AUSTIN PROCK AND MONTANA BRAND UP FOR CHALLENGE OF U.S. NATIONALS

INDIANAPOLIS – Austin Prock and the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist Chevrolet dragster team enter the final race of the regular season, the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, sitting sixth in the Camping World Drag Racing Series points standings. With points and a half on the line ahead of the reset for the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, Prock and company will be looking to make an impact on the standings.

In his 2019 debut season, Prock was a semifinalist at the U.S. Nationals after qualifying the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist dragster in the No. 12 spot. In only his second start at the world’s biggest drag race last season, Prock qualified 14th and had a first-round exit. The result had little effect on the resilient team. They would go on to finish third in the Camping World standings thanks to a sensational Countdown in which the Montanan Brand team went to three finals and won twice after starting the playoffs from the No. 12 position, equaling the biggest start-to-finish improvement in history.

“I’m excited for the biggest race of the year. This Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team is putting in the work to make sure we can battle with the rest of them. We will have a few new faces on our team this weekend, but we are not new to battling adversity. These small setbacks only make us stronger as a team. I believe we have a strong chance at leaving here with the hardware.”

BRITTANY FORCE AND FLAV-R-PAC READY TO ATTACK U.S. NATIONALS

INDIANAPOLIS – Brittany Force and the Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy Chevrolet dragster team enter NHRA’s biggest drag race, the Dodge Power Brokers U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park, sitting fourth in the points standings and, with points and a half on the line, are looking to make a last-minute jump to better their championship chances before the points reset for the Countdown to the Championship.

Force is trying to qualify her David Grubnic-tuned Flav-R-Pac dragster No. 1 at “The Big Go” for the fourth consecutive time while looking for a breakthrough first Top Fuel victory for John Force Racing at the event. She has been to the final round of the U.S. Nationals each of the last two years and set the Indianapolis Raceway Park track record for time and speed at 3.640 seconds and 337.75 mph last season.

“Heading into the biggest race of the season, the U.S. Nationals in Indy this weekend and we’re sitting fourth in points. We’ve come very close to winning this event with two runner-up finishes but this Flav-R-Pac / Monster Energy team is looking to seal the deal and end up in the winners circle this year,” Force said. “It’s the final race before points reset so our team needs to grab as many points as we can to close the gap as much as possible. It’s points and a half with an extra qualifying session so we’re going to try and really take advantage. Our goals haven’t changed, we want to qualify top five, and have clean and solid passes every run. We’re looking for a winners circle finish.”

John Force and the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevy Camaro SS had a semifinal finish while Brittany Force and the monster Energy. Flav-R-Pac dragster finished in the quarterfinals and Austin Prock with the Montanan brand / Rocky Mountain Twist dragster exited in the first round.

Robert Hight, who also celebrated his 54th birthday on Sunday, reached the final at Brainerd International Raceway for the second time in his career, he previously won in 2015. It was Hight’s third final of the 2023 season but his first runner-up finish. It was also his first time reaching the finals with the Cornwell Tools livery on his Chevy Camaro Funny Car. Hight came up short in the finals with a 3.900-second pass at 324.90 mph to reigning world champion Ron Capps’ 3.887 at 332.75.

After winning the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge on Saturday, Hight and the Cornwell Tools team started race day with a first-round win over Bobby Bode Jr. Hight would lay down the quickest run of the event with a stellar 3.881-second pass at 330.88 mph bettering Bode’s 3.929 at 322.23. ROBERT HIGHT AND CORNWELL TOOLS WIN #2FAST2TASTY CHALLENGE AT BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

BRAINERD, MN – Robert Hight and the Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS team picked up their first Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge victory Saturday while qualifying No. 6 for the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. Brittany Force and the Monster Energy / Flav-R-Pac dragster team finished runner-up in the Challenge while qualifying No. 4. John Force and the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevy Camaro SS team are No. 7 while Austin Prock and the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team landed in the No. 8 spot.

In the first round of the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge, Robert Hight and the Cornwell Tools team had a strong drag race in their semifinal rematch with Bob Tasca III from Heartland Motorsports Park. With both Hight and Tasca running 3.982 seconds, Hight would get the holeshot win with a .048 reaction time to Tasca’s .062. Hight’s speed would be 316.67 to Tasca’s 322.96.

Facing Matt Hagan in the finals, the Cornwell Tools dragster would be low on power but would take the win with a 3.988-second pass at 315.05 mph bettering Hagan who uncharacteristically only ran a 4.043 at 311.20. Along with the win, Hight will earn three championship bonus points and $10,000. The championship bonus points will be added to his total after the points reset heading into the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, NHRA’s six-race playoffs.

BRITTANY FORCE AND MONSTER ENERGY SIT NO. 3 AFTER DAY ONE AT BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

BRAINERD, MN – Brittany Force and the Monster Energy / Flav-R-Pac Chevrolet dragster sit in the No. 3 spot after day one of qualifying at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway (BIR) was cut short for the Top Fuel dragsters after a lengthy oil down delay in the left lane. Austin Prock and the Montanan brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team are eighth after one session. The Funny Car teams did get a second qualifying run in with Robert Hight and the Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevy Camaro SS closing the day in the No. 6 spot and John Force and the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevy Camaro SS team in the No. 7 spot.

Coming off a runner-up finish last weekend, Brittany Force and the Monster Energy team opened the weekend at BIR with the third-quickest run of the first session at 3.762 seconds and 331.45 mph. With daylight running out and difficult track conditions in the left lane where the oil down took place, the Top Fuel teams did not make a second qualifying run.

“Out here in Brainerd and right from the start in the first qualifying session we ran a killer 3.76 to put us No. 3. Unfortunately, because of uneven lanes and lack of light with the sun going down we lost our second qualifying pass which is really disappointing,” Force said. “After that first solid run we were really going to step it up and push this car in the best conditions we would have all weekend. That’s the way the game is played, everyone else had to follow the same rules so we’ll pick up where we left off and try to get two more solid runs tomorrow.”

JOHN FORCE AND PEAK LOOKING FOR A BREAKTHROUGH AT BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

BRAINERD, MN – John Force and the PEAK Antifreeze and Coolant Chevrolet Camaro SS team are hoping for a major turnaround in their season as they head to this weekend’s Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway, a venue where Force has historically been dominant.

In 15 final round appearances, Force’s 11 victories at Brainerd International Raceway (1988, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2007) are the most by one driver in any one event at a single venue. The 16-time world champion most recently runnered-up at the event in 2012 and 2014 in addition to 2005 and 1987. He has won more racing rounds at the facility than at any other track, a total of 76. Force has started race day from the No. 1 qualifying position eight times, going onto the final round all but once while winning six times.

“I love racing at Brainerd International Raceway, and, over the years, it’s liked me too. This PEAK Chevy is coming around. I know I have a fast race car, this team is capable of getting wins. We wouldn’t be out here if we didn’t think that,” Force said. “We made some adjustments, you do that when you’re trying to get better, it’s all coming together. We’ll get the job done.”

ROBERT HIGHT AND CORNWELL TOOLS MAKING STRIDES HEADING TO BRAINERD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

BRAINERD, MN – Robert Hight and the Cornwell Tools / AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS team are picking up momentum as they head into this weekend’s Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway, the second to last event in the regular season before the NHRA Countdown to the Championship begins.

Fresh off earning his 80th career No. 1 qualifying position at Heartland Motorsports Park last weekend, Hight comes into Brainerd International Raceway sitting third in points. Hight is returning to the site of his NHRA Funny Car national elapsed time record run of 3.793 seconds set in 2018. The three-time world champion won once at the facility in 2015 and secured No. 1 qualifying positions in 2017 and 2018. He also holds the track speed record set at 338.00 mph, also set in 2018. Last season, Hight qualified second and made a semifinal appearance.

“We started to turn a corner in Topeka, I do believe that. The combination started to respond. Jimmy Prock and the Cornwell Tools guys, we’re pretty excited moving forward. We didn’t get the results we wanted last weekend so I’m glad we get to turn around right away and get back in the seat,” Hight said. “It’s not too late to get back into this points deal and even go into the Countdown to the Championship with the No. 1 spot. We qualified well and went a couple of rounds in Topeka, if we do well in Brainerd and then with points and a half at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, we are right back in the thick of things and that’s our mindset right now.”
