Mickey Thompson continues support of International Drag Bike League
Stow, OH – Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels has renewed its commitment to the International Drag Bike League 
(IDBL) as official tire sponsor for the 2017 season. Additionally, the company will offer contingency awards to winning racers in all nine classes, starting with the 20th Annual Spring Nationals, April 21 to 23, at Maryland International Raceway.

The International Drag Bike League (IDBL) announced today the 2017 season schedule. The 2017 tour will include 
five events with four taking place at its flagship location, Maryland International Raceway (MDIR), and the addition of a race at Rockingham Dragway.
“We listened to a lot of feedback from competitors, fans and sponsors and wanted to put out the best possible schedule based on what we felt the IDBL community wanted,” IDBL President Jack Korpela said. “I’m really appreciative of the strong support from IDBL racers in 2016. We battled some adversity and every event was affected by weather. To still have such a strong bike count and such competitive championship chases shows how much this series means to all the loyal racers who have been following it for years. I fell in love with this series the first time I announced a race in 2002. We respect all the great individuals who have helped paved the way and we want to keep the momentum going.”

The series kicked off its 2016 season at Maryland International Raceway with packed pits, one of the quickest Pro Street fields ever, record breaking runs, the return of successful racer Ronnie Reece after a serious accident last year and the announcement of a new president and general manager of the world’s largest motorcycle drag racing series.

Jack Korpela joins the executive team to lead the premiere motorcycle series
JUPITER, FL/NEW YORK, NY – IRG Sports + Entertainment™ (IRGSE) announced the appointment of Jack Korpela as president and general manager of the Mickey Thompson International Drag Bike League (IDBL) today. Mr. Korpela will assume the position immediately in time for this weekend’s season opening Pingel Spring Nationals at Maryland International Raceway.
Mr. Korpela has dedicated his entire life to his love of motorcycle racing from the age of four when he attended his first race. The passion for the sport resulted in him working in several facets of racing from announcing IDBL races from the booth at Maryland International Raceway, to television commentary and later introducing motorcycle enthusiasts to CycleDrag.com in 2006. CycleDrag.com is the go to source for all things motorcycle racing related and Mr. Korpela is the owner and contributor to the website.
