Pro Stock set to compete at all 20 races; PSM to race at 14 events, as well as GETTRX All-Star Callout in Sonoma

INDIANAPOLIS – NHRA officials announced the 2026 schedule for the Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle categories in the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, including the dates for the GETTRX NHRA All-Star Callout in both categories.

As part of the NHRA’s 75th anniversary season in 2026, Pro Stock will compete at all 20 races next year, giving fans across the country the chance to see the standout category in action. The special 75th NHRA season begins with the 56th annual NHRA Gatornationals on March 5-8 at legendary Gainesville Raceway.

It puts Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock at all 20 events in 2026, while Pro Stock Motorcycle will be contested at 14 races, plus the GETTRX All-Star Callout in Sonoma.

Pro Stock Motorcycle will open its season with the category’s traditional opener in Gainesville, and will also race at the four-wide race in Charlotte and at South Georgia Motorsports Park during NHRA’s national event debut there. The two-wheeled category will also compete in Chicago, as part of NHRA’s national event debut at Maryland International Raceway, Bristol and Norwalk in a busy May and June.

The eight riders who qualify for the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle Callout will compete in the bonus race at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals on July 17-18. The eight standouts will only compete in the Callout in Sonoma, as it won’t serve as one of the 14 points-earning events for the category. Continue reading

MATT SMITH GOES BACK-TO-BACK WITH VICTORY IN THE GETTRX PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE ALL-STAR CALLOUT IN SONOMA

Gadson secures first career PSM No. 1 qualifier

SONOMA, CA – Six-time Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion Matt Smith continued to enjoy success at Sonoma Raceway in specialty races, winning the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout for a second straight year on Saturday as part of this weekend’s Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.

Smith picked up the victory when Richard Gadson went red in the final round, claiming the $25,000 prize and winning the Callout in back-to-back years. He’s won a bonus race in Sonoma four times on his Denso/Matt Smith Racing Buell and continued to have the magic touch at the facility on Saturday.

Smith went 6.783-seconds at 199.76 mph against Gadson, who went red by .001, as the multi-time champion enjoyed another magical Saturday in Sonoma. Smith opened the Callout with a victory against Chase Van Sant and then beat teammate John Hall in the semifinals, setting up the marquee matchup with Gadson in the championship round.

“This is awesome. I love this track. I came here as a kid and watched my dad [Rickie] win in a Pro Stock car. It’s a long tow from North Carolina but it’s worth it. This is also Denso’s home race,” Smith said. Continue reading

PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE CHAMP MATT SMITH EAGER TO REPEAT AT DENSO NHRA SONOMA NATIONALS

SONOMA, CA – At last year’s Denso NHRA Sonoma presented by PowerEdge, six-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Matt Smith left Sonoma Raceway with three titles in hand: the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout winner, the No. 1 qualifier and the race winner. This year, his goal is to repeat his stellar weekend a year ago.

Smith has 42 wins to his credit as well as six Pro Stock Motorcycle championships on his Denso Buell. Last season at Sonoma Raceway, he tallied a perfect weekend after winning both the specialty GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout race as well as the No. 1 qualifier position on Saturday, before winning for the time in Sonoma on Sunday. Smith currently sits third in the 2025 Pro Stock Motorcycle standings after winning at his home track in Charlotte, as well as earning two runner-up finishes in Gainesville and Chicago.

“I feel pretty good about going back to Sonoma,” said Smith. “I think that we’re running really good right now. All four bikes that we have (at Matt Smith Racing) are running pretty close. We had a lot of luck last year and we found the tune up right away on my bike and it parlayed through the whole weekend. It wasn’t just my bike. I beat Jianna (Evaristo) in the finals of the Callout and I beat John Hall in the race final on Sunday. All our bikes were running well last year and I think we should be able to do the same thing this year.” Continue reading

TOP FUEL’S JUSTIN ASHLEY EAGER FOR BIG WEEKEND AT DENSO NHRA SONOMA NATIONALS

SONOMA, CA – Despite a second-round loss last weekend in Seattle, Justin Ashley remains on track to peak at perhaps the perfect time during the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, still bringing plenty of momentum into this weekend’s Denso NHRA Sonoma presented by PowerEdge at Sonoma Raceway.

Before that race, Ashley had won back-to-back events in his 12,000-horsepower Scag Power Equipment dragster, advancing to the final round at six of the previous seven races. Ashley still remains red-hot heading to Sonoma, staying in contention for the regular season championship – which nets the winner $150,000 in the nitro ranks – and getting him Countdown to the Championship ready.

He trails Shawn Langdon, who won in impressive fashion in Seattle, by 93 points heading into Sonoma, feeling momentum at a track that has served him well. Ashley won at the spectacular facility in 2023 and would love to add another on a weekend where marquee runs could be plentiful with standout weather expected. Continue reading

GETTRX PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE ALL-STAR CALLOUT RETURNS TO DENSO NHRA SONOMA NATIONALS

SONOMA, CA – Eight of the top riders in the Pro Stock Motorcycle category get the spotlight – and a massive double-up opportunity – this weekend at Sonoma Raceway, as the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout takes place as part of the massive 37th annual Denso Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.

The picturesque – and notoriously fast – track has been home to bonus races in the category for years, with the Callout taking place in Sonoma for a third straight season. Gaige Herrera and Matt Smith won it the last two years, respectively, and each has gone on to win the Sunday race as well, a sign that success on Saturday’s race-within-a-race can lead to a double-up on Sunday.

The unique Callout pits eight riders against each other in a one-day specialty race, with competitors calling out their first-round opponent. Back-to-back world champion Herrera, who won on Sunday in Seattle, is again the top seed, meaning he gets the first pick of his opponents. The rest of the field, in order, includes six-time world champ Smith, Bristol winner Richard Gadson, Angie Smith, Norwalk winner John Hall, Jianna Evaristo, former Rookie of the Year Chase Van Sant and Chris Bostick. HARTFORD DEFEATS ANDERSON, WINS GETTRX PRO STOCK ALL-STAR CALLOUT AT SUMMIT MOTORSPORTS PARK

NORWALK, OH – Pro Stock’s Matt Hartford avenged last year’s final-round defeat and picked up his first victory in the GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout on Saturday at Summit Motorsports Park, defeating reigning world champion Greg Anderson in the final round of the bonus race as part of this weekend’s 19th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.

In a rematch of last year’s final round in the bonus race, which Anderson won, Hartford led wire-to-wire this time, going 6.609-seconds at 207.88 mph in his Total Seal Chevrolet Camaro to knock off the points leader and claim the $40,000 prize.

It was a thrilling moment for Hartford, who left first on Anderson and never trailed en route to a massive victory in the bonus race, which took place at Norwalk for the first time.

“First of all, let’s just be clear, this is (Bill) Bader country here. He has the best track in the country, he has the best staff, the best people, everything about this facility is top notch, so to come here and be able to race is just a great feeling,” Hartford said. “To be able to win here is even better. We beat (Eric) Latino, Dallas Glenn and Greg Anderson – three really tough competitors who all have the same power that we have.” Continue reading
