Bauer Racing’s K100 Fuel Treatment Team to Compete at NHRA Cavalcade of Stars

Elma, NY – 8th annual Mickey Mart Cavalcade of Stars at Summit Raceway Park will kick off the 2014 season for Bauer Racing and Robert Bauer Jrtheir K-100 Fuel Treatment team but it will also mark a first for team driver Robert Bauer III (RB3). After a very successful time in Junior Dragsters, including multiple track championships at his home track (Elegant Builders Raceway Park, near Buffalo, NY) RB3 is stepping up to run Super Comp at the NHRA Divisional level.

Robert’s father, Bob Bauer Jr., who will also be competing at the Cavalcade of Stars in his K-100 backed 2009 GTO is excited and extremely proud to be able to have his son as a teammate at such a high level of racing. “Every Dad is proud of their son, no matter what, but Robert has given me some really proud moments this past year. He’s graduating from Iroquois High School in a couple months. He was the starting goalie for his Varsity Hockey team this year and even played in front of a full house at the First Niagara Center before a Buffalo Sabres game! How cool is that to cheer on your 18 yr old son in front of packed house like that? Now he’s going to be on my team and my wife, Shelly and I couldn’t be prouder of him,” said team owner/driver, Bob Bauer Jr.

While RB3 may be trading in a goalie mask for an SFI approved helmet he’s no stranger to the divisional or national event scene. For the past two seasons Robert has performed many of the duties of Crew Chief on his Dad’s Top Sportsman entry. His experience behind the wheel and as crew chief will definitely help as Father and Son run two cars at the same event.

“Even though we run different classes; having the two cars can help us better prepare for each round. With today’s technology we can stay in constant communication no matter where either one of us is on the track. We also have the ability to read live data from the car when staging and at launch so, that really helps cut down on the time to prepare for the next round,” said Robert Bauer III, driver of the Bauer Racing K100 Backed Dragster.

Bob Bauer Jr’s  Top Sportsman GTO features a Torrelli Pro Cars built chassis (Lockport, NY), a five inch bore spaced 738 cubic inch displaced engine freshened by Jan-Cen Motorsports (Elma, NY) featuring 3 stages of nitrous oxide, an R & R power glide transmission (Olean, NY), with a BDR torque converter (Buffalo, NY).

Robert Bauer III is lucky enough to be able to get behind the wheel of one of the most beautiful racing machines on the planet, a Chromeworx/Ultra Cars 242 inch wheel base dragster. Robert’s digger was built with detail in mind. With 2014 being the first full season for the new ride she is sure to garner best engineered and best appearing awards as much as she does winner’s trophies. The dragster features a unique swing arm rear suspension with a single Penske shock absorber. Other eye catching features include Weld Delta 1 bead lock wheels, an MSD Power Grid Ignition, a one piece carbon fibre wing, duel brake system, and TONS of chrome and carbon fibre dipped parts.
