Banner Engineering partners with the Western New York Super Rod Association
Rochester, NY – The Tread City Tire / Western New York Super Rod Association (WNYSRA) announced today that Banner 
Engineering of Minneapolis, Minnesota has agreed to become a major race sponsor of the growing racing series. As such, Banner Engineering will become the presenting sponsor of the sixth race of the WNYSRA season, which is to be held at Empire Dragway on Saturday, August 16th.
Phil Harnden, Co-Founder of the Tread City Tire / Western New York Super Rod Association, stated, “We’re extremely excited to have Banner Engineering join us as a race sponsor for the 2014 season. Banner has been involved in drag racing longer than most people know, as their photoelectric sensors are used in the timing systems at almost every track in North America. But, with this partnership we’ll be able to bring Banner Engineering to the forefront so that everyone associated with the racing community knows about their cutting-edge technologies.”

The Director of North American Sales for Banner Engineering, Dan Colvin, stated, “Though our products are not utilized primarily in motorsports, we realize that many of the fans and competitors may have the need for the types of products we manufacture at their full-time jobs. The Tread City Tire / Western New York Super Rod Association returns to Empire Dragway this Saturday, August 16th, for race number 6 of the 8 race series. Gates open at noon, with open time trials for all competitors starting at 1 pm. WNYSRA qualifying sessions are currently scheduled for 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm, with final eliminations slated to start at 5:00 pm.
