Anxious for continued success, Arana is ready for Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Coming off one of his best performances all season at Maple Grove Raceway, Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Adam Arana is more than Adam Aranaexcited about making the long trip from Indiana to Las Vegas for the NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

Placing his ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV Buell within the top half of the ladder for the first time all season at the previous race in Reading, Pa., Arana feels like the bike is finally where he wants it to be performance-wise. Not wanting to mess with a setup that is almost to his liking, he made very minimal changes the past couple of weeks.

“We didn’t really do much to the bikes since Reading,” Arana said. “We’re kind of at that point in the season where we’re trying to prepare for next year more than anything.

“With the Harley’s success, we don’t have much of a chance of winning a championship this year with my brother or dad. At this point we’re just looking ahead to next year and working towards that.”

After such a great showing in Reading and with past success in Las Vegas, Arana thinks that this is the time of the year that his family’s skills are really put on display.

“I think the end of the season is our strong suit,” Arana said. “It’s towards the end of the season, so we’re starting to get in a real stride with our motors and tune-ups. We’re just going to try to stay consistent now.

“Last race we were all in the top six in qualifying, so we’re just going to try to repeat, but while we’re going to try to qualify well in Vegas, we’re mainly looking forward to what we can do for the future.”

While Arana Racing already has its sights on the 2015 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, the youngest Arana’s thoughts are set on another outcome. With only two races left on his bike, Arana is focused on making it the best two races of his career.

“My main goal is to have fun,” Arana said. “I only have two races left in my Pro Stock Motorcycle career. I normally have fun out here but I really want to try to have as much fun as I possibly can.”

Qualifying sessions are scheduled for 1 and 4 p.m. PT, Friday and Saturday. Eliminations will start at approximately noon, Sunday, with both qualifying and elimination action broadcast on ESPN2 on tape-delay basis.
