al-anabi-logoQualifying:   Shawn Langdon was the No. 11 qualifier at the Auto-Plus NHRA New England Nationals.  After battling mechanical issues through the first three rounds of qualifying, Langdon posted a 3.841-second pass at 321.50 mph in the final attempt.  It was just the fourth time this season that Langdon did not qualify in the top-four positions.

Eliminations: Langdon raced Spencer Massey in the first round of eliminations.  He was leading Massey when the Al-Anabi car smoked the tires around half track allowing Massey to get the win. It was just the second time this season that Langdon was eliminated in the first round.

Unofficial Point Standings: Langdon remains third in the NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel point standings.  He trails second-place Antron Brown by 61 points and leads fourth-place Spencer Massey by 74 points.

Langdon on Epping: “The Al-Anabi team had a tough weekend.  We fought some mechanical problems and really struggled in qualifying.  We were confident we fixed the problem after the third round and made a pretty good run in the last round of qualifying. In the first round today, we were on a good run but just missed the setup a little bit. I think we’ll be in good shape next weekend in Joliet.”

Khalid alBalooshi – Al- Anabi Racing Top Fuel Dragster (gold)

Qualifying:   Khalid alBalooshi was the No. 10 qualifier at the Auto-Plus NHRA New England Nationals.  During the Friday evening qualifying session, Langdon reached the finish line in 3.819 seconds at 320.81 mph.

Eliminations: AlBalooshi defeated Leah Pritchett before losing to points leader Doug Kalitta in the second round of eliminations.

Unofficial Point Standings: AlBalooshi remains seventh in the NHRA Mello Yello Top Fuel point standings.  He trails sixth-place Steve Torrence by 64 and leads eighth-place Richie Crampton by 41 points.

AlBalooshi on Epping: “Not bad for our Al-Anabi team today.  We have been struggling, but I think we can do way better now.  Our team found a problem yesterday, and today, we made two very good runs – that felt good for everyone.  We lost the second round, but the car went down the track like we wanted; it has not been doing that.  We are better now.  So we are already very excited to race next week in Chicago.”
