CHAD GREEN & BLAKE ALEXANDER HEAD TO TEXAS MOTORPLEX THIS WEEKEND FOR NHRA FALL NATIONALS IN TOUGH FUNNY CAR CATEGORY

Two NHRA Race Winners Hope to Add to the Win Column with Nitro-burning Funny Cars

ENNIS, TX – Returning to his home state, Funny Car driver Chad Green looks for another victory this weekend (Oct. 10-12) with his CGM Bond-Coat Ford Mustang in the annual NHRA Texas Fall Nationals at the legendary Texas Motorplex.

The Midland, Tex., businessman/racer who won the NHRA Gatornationals this year comes to the Ennis, Tex., racing plant with winning on his mind after strong recent performances including capturing last Saturday’s “Nitro Night” at the Flying H Drag Strip near Kansas City. Green clocking a 3.92 at 326 miles per hour to become the first driver to top 300 m.p.h. in the state of Missouri.

In addition, Green has produced strong showings in the last three NHRA national events with one final round and two semifinal appearances at Reading, Charlotte and St. Louis. Now, he comes to his home state track seeking another NHRA “Wally” trophy this weekend.  “We had some very good runs last Saturday at the Flying H track and our team has confidence heading into the Texas race,” said Green. “We have been close to a win in the last three NHRA national events too. The car has been consistently strong. We need a strong qualifying run on Friday night too. Good qualifying puts in a solid position for Sunday’s eliminations.”

Alexander, a four-time NHRA race winner from Charlotte, has been close to the NHRA winner’s circle too in 2025 with his CGM Pronto Auto Services Dodge//SRT Hellcat machine after a close final round finish at the Reading Nationals. And the Pronto nitro car has recorded impressive qualifying runs with Blake and Hunter Green at the wheel this second of the 20-race NHRA tour.

“We have been making progress with our Pronto Dodge Hellcat,” said Alexander. “We have brought in some new clutch parts, and we had to take a step back in the setup with new equipment. Now, we have things moving in a good direction for Texas. It looks like the weather will be hot and Friday night’s qualifying run will be cooler. That will be important for the starting field on Sunday. Last year, it was cooler, and the cars ran pretty fast. With warmer conditions, the setup of the car is very critical. I think our cars will be good in the heat. It’s a big race for us as the Pronto Auto Services headquarters are in Dallas, and we’ll have an outstanding group of Pronto people at the track. It will be a great experience for them.”

Green and Alexander and their 12,000-horsepower Funny Cars will begin at the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals with qualifying for two rounds on Friday, Oct. 10, at 5:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. CDT. On Saturday, Oct. 11, the nitro sessions get underway at 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. CDT with final eliminations scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. CDT. The final eliminations will be televised on the Fox Network on Sunday at 2 p.m. EDT and 4:30 p.m. EDT.
