ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV rider Arana takes new attitude to Sonoma

SONOMA, CA – The best part about a difficult weekend for ProtectTheHarvest.com/MAVTV rider Adam Arana is that the Adam Aranaopportunity for redemption is only a few days away.

Arana is ready to reboot for the NHRA Sonoma Nationals this weekend at Sonoma Raceway.

“New day, new everything,” Arana said. “I’ve already forgotten about Denver and am looking forward to Sonoma.”

Arana’s sophomore season has been trying, but he bounced back from failing to qualify in Chicago by racing to the semifinals in Norwalk, Ohio, picking up a holeshot victory along the way.

Arana hopes he can have a similar experience in Sonoma after struggling in Denver.

“I did well in Norwalk,” Arana said. “I’ve done well all year except for the first round in Denver and one time in E2 against Eddie (Krawiec). Those are the only times I haven’t had a good light. I think my worst light besides those was a .048.

“I know I can do it. It just wasn’t a good weekend, unfortunately, in Denver, but we can bounce back from that.”

Arana and his family left Denver on Monday morning, driving the team’s motorhome and trailer to Sonoma. They made a couple of stops along the way to relax, but there is work to be done for Sonoma.

“I will swap out the motors for Sonoma,” Arana said. “We’re going to put in the motor that (brother) Hector (Jr.) won with in Sonoma last year. I know it’s a good motor, so we will see.

“My brother and I talked about putting the motor in that he won with and taking the cam out of the motor that Dad was riding earlier in the year and was doing extremely well. With that combination we should have a solid motor.”

Plus, Arana will have a clear mind and a new attitude for Sonoma.

“Having a race this week should help me bounce back,” Arana said. “We will be able to relax and stuff and it will be fine. We will see how qualifying goes as well. I’m ready to get going.”

Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifying sessions are scheduled for 4:15 and 6:15 p.m., Friday, and 12:55 and 3:15 p.m., Saturday. Eliminations begin at noon, Sunday. ESPN2 will carry all qualifying and elimination action.
