World’s Quickest and Fastest Import to Compete at PDRA Summer Drags

PITTSBORO, NC – The Professional Drag Racers Association’s Pro Boost competitors will have a new force to reckon Ekanoo Racingwith at the upcoming PDRA Summer Drags at US 131 Motorsports Park. EKanoo Racing holds the record for the quickest and fastest run by a Pro Import car thanks to a run in January of this year. At Bahrain International Circuit, EKanoo Racing’s brand new Toyota GT86 went 5.774 at over 247 miles per hour, setting the import world on fire.

The team, led by team owner Ebrahim Kanoo recently brought the Pro Import stateside. After a successful test session at Orlando Speed World last weekend, the team has made plans for the PDRA Summer Drags to be their first major event on U.S. soil.

“After our successful test session in Orlando, we decided to test our capabilities with the best in the world,” stated EKanoo Racing Team Manager, Haider Mohammed. “We will see what our mighty six cylinder can do alongside the roots blown and twin turbo V8s. We want to thank the PDRA organization for opening their arms and welcoming us to race with them.”

The GT86, driven by Gary White, will compete in GALOT Motorsports Pro Boost where so far GALOT Motorsports’ own Kevin Rivenbark has dominated, winning three back-to-back events and going undefeated in 2016. Ekanoo Racing’s Master Tuner Shane Tecklenburg, aided by Crew Chief Eric Luzinski and crew Josh Ledford, Khalid Juwan and Moe Mohamed will no doubt be looking to take charge of the field, hoping to end Rivenbark’s streak.

The GT86 was built entirely by EKanoo Racing Factory in Bahrain. It boasts a Toyota twin turbo 2JZ engine – a six cylinder of 195 cubic inches. The record holding machine is equipped with MoTeC electronics and custom powertrain management software written by Tecklenburg himself.

Those able to attend the Summer Drags will not want to miss EKanoo Racing’s public debut and for all those unable to attend, the event will be streamed live at MotorManiaTV.com, beginning Thursday, June 9 for testing and continuing through qualifications and eliminations June 10-11.
