Winners hoping to repeat success at upcoming Super Chevy Show at US 131 Motorsports Park

CAYUGA, ON – With one win in the 2014 season, the victors are hoping to repeat their success at the next event for the Pro PMRA-10th-logo-500pxModified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series.

All three drag race series continue this weekend, May 30 – June 1 at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan as part of the track’s Super Chevy Show.

First-time Quick 32 Sportsman Series winner Glen Vardy would especially enjoy a win at Martin, as his Top Dragster is Chevy powered and won the opener at Grand Bend May 18.

We had an awesome weekend at Grand Bend, said the Burlington, Ontario racer. We are going to Michigan to try it again. We are going to try to be the quickest Chevy at the Super Chevy Show.

Vardy presently leads in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, followed by the Top Sportsman teams of Wilson and Gray of Ingersoll, Ontario, and Wes Goddard of Guelph, Ontario.

Last year’s PBSS champion, Dan Cryderman of Thamesville, Ontario, is also hoping to repeat his successful run at Grand Bend. Riding his Pro Bike Suzuki, he eliminated Ted Glinny of Milton, Ontario in the final after some mechanical issues during earlier runs.

Fortunately everything came together on the Sunday, said Cryderman. We got things sorted out and I have to thank Jeremy (Van Bastelaar, the team’s crew chief). He was a big help.

Cryderman leads in PBSS Championship Point Award Series at present, followed by Glinny and Curtis Beck, also of Milton, Ontario.

The PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, is now in its fourth year.

Three-time PMRA champ Bruce Boland started his year with a win and will be at US 131 Motorsports Park in the hopes for another shot at the Championship.

We were pretty happy with the car at Grand Bend, said the Stoney Creek, Ontario driver of the B&B Racing Firebird Pro Modified. The car still needs some tweaking but we’re hoping to continue with our success.

Boland leads in the Championship Point Award Series at present, followed by Jack Grainy of Basom, New York, and Jason White of Cicero, New York. The PMRA is celebrating its 10th year of operation in 2014.

Along with racing in the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS, the weekend will feature three of Al Hanna’s jet cars, two GoJo jet Funny Cars, plus the Queen of Diamonds jet cars, as well as Super Chevy Show racing, car corral, car show, and swap meet.

There will be a Test and Tune session Friday, May 30, for the three series, and a qualifying round held Friday evening. All three series will run three qualifiers on Saturday May 31, with eliminations scheduled to take place Sunday June 1.
