Turner & Doyle take Street Outlaws specials

LANCASTER, NY – Early morning rains dried up just in time for Lancaster National Dragway to get the second Friday night of racing in for the Franco’s Pizza IHRA Drag Racing program. The Buffalo Street Outlaws joined the action for their first appearance of the 2016 season.

The Buffalo Street Outlaws (BSO) finals came down to Don Turner of Greenville, PA and Moe Alfaqih of Cheektowaga, N.Y., however, Alfaqih could not make the call to the lanes with a mechanical issue. This gave Turner a single pass to take the win. In the BSO Limited Street final Terry Doyle of Grand Island, N.Y. defeated Kal Brant in a battle of Ford Mustangs.

Two drivers in Lancaster’s weekly classes were able to repeat their success from opening night to begin their seasons with back-to-back wins. Dale Eckert picked up his second win a row in McGard Mod ET after beating Billy Ryan in the finals, even though Ryan matched his 6.30 dial-in. The final round of Hebeler’s Sales Sleds & Bikes was a carbon copy from the week before as Alan Fletcher took down Rob Brandel for the second-straight week

In Mallare Enterprises Top ET, Chris Van Baalen of Wellandport, Ontario got the win after a red light by Jon Jablosnki in the finals. Pete D’Agnolo of Rochester held off Zell Gaymon in the finals of Top 8 thanks in part to a .503 reaction time. Chris Kujawski took top honors in Tread City Tire Street following a break out by Cody Winkowski.

This coming Friday, May 20, Lancaster National Dragway hosts First Responders Night with discounted grandstand admission for all police, fire and rescue personnel with valid ID. Quick 16 joins Lancaster’s weekly classes for their first race of the season.
