Toyota Teams Ready for Las Vegas

BROWN IN MID-SEASON FORM, LOOKS TO REPEAT IN VEGAS – With a victory in Phoenix and a runner-up finish last Toyota Logoweekend in Gainesville, Antron Brown is proving to be in mid-season form right out of the gate in 2014.  The 2012 Top Fuel champion won seven consecutive rounds before losing in the final in Florida.  He currently stands second in points as he prepares to return to Las Vegas where he won just four months ago.  In addition to his victory in the series most recent trek to The Strip, Brown also won at the Nevada track in the spring of 2011.
Antron Brown: “Vegas has always been a great race for us so we are excited to get out there. We’re hungry for another race. I can’t wait to get there.”
KALITTA CAMRYS STARTING STRONG – A year ago, Del Worsham needed a big round win in the final regular season event of the season to squeeze into the Countdown.  Early on this season, Kalitta Motorsports and drivers Worsham and Alexis DeJoria have shown they have no intention to take things down to the wire – as the duo enter this weekend’s event in a tie for third place.
DeJoria became the first woman in Funny Car history to run a sub-four-second pass (3.997) at the season-opening Winternationals and then followed that record run up by winning her first career Nitro Funny Car event at the next race in Phoenix to earn her third-place.   Worsham hasn’t reached the Winner’s Circle yet, but the 2011 Top Fuel champion is just one of four Funny Car drivers to win at least one round at each of the first three races of the season.
WINNING IN VEGAS – Four of this weekend’s Toyota drivers have previously won in Las Vegas.  Antron Brown won last Fall’s Toyota Nationals, as well as the spring race in ’11.  Both Cruz Pedregon and Tony Pedregon each have three victories at the track, with Cruz winning at The Strip last Spring.   Del Worsham also has a win at the Nevada track in Top Fuel competition in 2011.
