TOYOTA NHRA QUALIFYING AT READING

TORRANCE, CA – Rain and spotty track conditions limited racers to just one qualifying session as all eight Toyota drivers qualified in Saturday’s session in preparation for Sunday’s NHRA Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Penn. Friday’s first day of qualifying was rained out.

Richie Crampton was the leading qualifier among the Toyota Top Fuel cars in fifth with a 7.995-second pass, while Del Worsham was the top Toyota in Funny Car in sixth, with an 8.172-second pass. Just two Top Fuel cars and one Funny Car were able to make clean runs the length of the track as track temperatures were in the low 60s.

Following Worsham in Funny Car were Cruz Pedregon in seventh, Chad Head in ninth, Tony Pedregon in 13th and Alexis DeJoria in 14th. In addition to Crampton, point leader Antron Brown qualified 12th and Shawn Langdon was 13th in Top Fuel.

Today’s qualifying can be seen Sunday on ESPN2 beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Sunday’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series eliminations will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. (all times EDT).
