BROWN HEADS TO ATLANTA LOOKING FOR MILESTONE WIN – Antron Brown will arrive in Atlanta this weekend looking for a milestone victory. The 2012 Top Fuel world champion will be shooting for his 49 th win in Mello Yello Drag Racing Series competition, tying him with the legendary Don “The Snake” Prudhomme for 10 th all-time. Brown has won a series high 30 races since 2009 – eight more than the next highest Top Fuel driver.

DeJORIA RETURNS TO RECORD-SETTING TRACK – Alexis DeJoria owns the Atlanta Dragway Funny Car track record after registering a 4.012-second pass in her Toyota Camry in qualifying last season. DeJoria enters this year’s race currently seventh in points. She has qualified in the top four in each of the last two events.

WINNING AT ATLANTA – A PEDREGON FAMILY AFFAIR – Toyota Camry Funny Car drivers Cruz and Tony Pedregon will look to extend a family tradition this weekend – winning the Southern Nationals Funny Car event. Tony Pedregon is a three-time Atlanta winner, having won in 1996, 2003 and 2006, while Cruz Pedregon won in 1998. In addition, their older brother Frank, won in Atlanta in 2001.

TOYOTA DRIVERS FIGHTING FOR POINTS LEAD – Three Toyota Top Fuel drivers will enter Atlanta in the top six in the point race. Antron Brown currently sits in third place, followed by Shawn Langdon in fourth and Richie Crampton is sixth. Each of the three has registered one victory in the season’s first six events.

In addition, Toyota Camry Funny Car driver Del Worsham is third in points, just 30 points behind series leader Ron Capps. Alexis DeJoria is seventh in the championship race, while Cruz Pedregon currently sits 10 th.

TOYOTA TOP FUELERS EXCEL IN ATLANTA– Toyota Top Fuel drivers have won the Southern Nationals five of the last seven years with Antron Brown winning in 2008, 2011 and 2013, Morgan Lucas winning in 2009 and Larry Dixon victorious in 2010.
