Tony Pedregon Returns to Joliet with Pink “Spark of Hope” Funny Car
Indianapolis, IN – Two Time Funny Car Champ Tony Pedregon returns to Joliet at 17th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 NHRA
Nationals to promote the Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation “Spark Of Hope”.
“As our team continues to make progress with our performance, the timing is perfect to once again race for a cause and help support the efforts of my wife’s charity that has generated much needed funding to cancer research that ultimately saves lives,” said Tony Pedregon.
Tony has 4 wins at Route 66 Raceway, most recently in 2009 and is eager to return to the track this weekend. Joliet is also the site of night qualifying runs on both Friday and Saturday. Qualifying begins Friday at 5:15 and 8pm and again on Saturday at 5:30 and 8:30 with final eliminations Sunday at 11am.
The Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation was established in 2010 and is best known for its projects and live auctions. 100% of the funds raised go to children’s causes and cancer research as well as Melanoma, Prostate & Colon Cancer research. To date, Andrea’s Charity has donated close to $200,000.00
“I am eager to reach our fan base in Chicago and continue promoting cancer awareness” stated Andrea Pedregon. “We are encouraging ALL cancer survivors – and friends/family who have lost someone special to stop by the pits Friday and Saturday between qualifying sessions and Sunday before eliminations to sign the hood of Tony’s funny car. Our car will then honor those who have fought and remember those who have passed”, added Andrea.
